This wireless pointer has an elegant and simple design that beats any other pointer I've seen (and my colleagues have several). Having only four buttons is actually a big advantage - ease of use dominates features where you are on stage - and the storage space for the usb jack is in the remote itself. Perfect! And putting the usb jack in its storage space deactivates the laser pointer, so there is no fear that the batteries will be drained when you pack the device in a crowded bag or briefcase.
I highly recommend this Wireless Presenter.

I wasn't aware of fact that the laser pointer turned on F5 until after I bought it--this was completely undocumented. As others have commented, this can create problems depending on what F5 is set to do in the application you are using--in my case (using TuringPoint) opening an unwanted dialog box. When I contacted Kensington technical support, their suggestion was that I unplug the USB every time I wanted to use the laser pointer! But in looking at the previous reviews I see that another user has described a hack to disable this feature--thanks!Customer Review: Comparison of several presenters

I've compared about 5 or 6 presenters in actual use for a corporate application. All work well and get the job done. This one worked flawlessly -- plugs in, recognized by pc, and buttons are working immediately. The functionality is limited to 4 buttons though and a laser, which is fine for basic needs. If that's all you need (forward, back, stop, laser), then this is a good choice. I prefer the Logitech for the added convenience of having a volume control and timer, but if those features aren't important, this is an equally good unit.Customer Review: Outstanding product

I have used this product for over 30 days and it has been outstanding. It is very simple to setup and use. Easy to hold. Turns off when you insert the receiver into the hand unit to save the battery. This is handy in case one of its buttons is pressed while the unit is your carry on luggage etc. I have known of others that did not do this and have ended up with a unit that would not work when needed. There are a lot of clickers out there with a whole slew of features, but what I really needed was quite simple: move forward, backward, and have a laser pointer. This Kensington fits all my needs. It can't get any easier to set up, too. Before class, all I have to do is insert the USB stick into the computer and it's all ready to go. I teach in a small class, so I really don't have to be 200 feet away. If you need a clicker for simple needs without anything fancy or complicated, this is definitely the clicker to buy.
