Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of 50-WATT International ConverterCustomer Review: worked like a charm Summary: 4 Stars
Just back from a 2 week trip in Europe and had no problems with this adapter at all. Worked to keep all my gadget batteries charges. Probably only needed an adapter rather than a converter, but didn't want to chance it. The only downside is that this converter is heavy. It did add a bit of heft to my luggage.
Customer Review: Well, It Worked Until... Summary: 3 Stars
I used it for charging my cel and my camera batteries in Israel... until I blew it trying to charge a laptop. PAY ATTENTION TO THE MAXIMUM WATTAGE! Nothing over 50 watts or you'll fry it. It'll overheat, but it won't create a puff of smoke like some of the other products I've been reading about.
Customer Review: This was too heavy and didn't work well Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this to charge up my daughter's iPod during our trip to the UK. It almost burned out the iPod. It is also very heavy and bulky and you probably will have to use an adapter too which makes it even more cumbersome. Not a recommended buy as far as I am concerned.
Customer Review: 50-WATT Jensen converter works as advertised Summary: 5 Stars
100% satisfied with the 50-WATT Jensen converter. I bought 6 of them (3 from Best Buy and 3 from Amazon) and they all work just as advertised. As long as you use these converters with small appliances rated 50 WATT (or 50 VA) or less, they would work just fine.
Customer Review: doesn't do the job Summary: 1 Stars
I bought one for a trip to europe. It claims to be rated for up to 50W but it overheated and died while charging a netbook rated at a 40W draw.
It did successfully charge a digital camera and an Iphone with no overheating problems.
