Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Jabra SP5050 Bt SpeakerphoneCustomer Review: Form over function Summary: 2 Stars
I thought that I had found the perfect product. It looked great, felt great and fit great but...
It is way to quiet for actual use. Perhaps my unit is defective but the volume level on the speaker is extremely low. Low to the point of making this unit unusable.
If you are looking for a viable speakerphone this isnt it not because of its functionality but because the volume level of the speaker makes it practically unusable.
I'm going to send it back and try again with a different unit - if its the same this review will stand - if it has a decent speaker volume than I will update this review.
Customer Review: Jabra Speakerphone is tops for me. Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this device, because of the laws requiring all cell phone usage in the car to be hands free.
Over the past few years I have tried a number of different hands free bluetooth headsets, all with varying
degrees of success. Typically what happens is I find that the ones that hook over my ears are rather painful for me, or at the least bothersome. So I took a chance and got the Jabra Speakerphone for my car. Well imagine my pleasant surprise when it paired immediately with my Nokia phone, and when I tested it everyone I called said that they heard me loud and clear. I am a convert and am very pleased with my purchase so far.
Customer Review: The best BT handsfree I have used Summary: 5 Stars
I have owned 3 different Jabra over the ear type handsfree BT devices before this one over the past 5 years, and they have all been very reliable and provide great sound quality (both incoming and outgoing)... until I lost them one by one. The SP5050 has been working great out of the box, took me all but one minute to link it to my phone (AT&T 8525) and call quality is excellent at both end (due to Active noise cancellation). Haven't used it enough to test the battery life yet, but so far, it has been 4 days and perhaps 5-6 hours of talk time without low battery indicator. You won't be disappointed with this product at all.
Customer Review: Works as it's supposed to Summary: 5 Stars
I hate those ear things. And Best Buy had about 500 different ear things and 1 speakerphone model (which was sold out). So I came to Amazon and this one looked good, based on the reviews. I ordered it, and it works just like it's supposed to. The people on the other end can hear me clearly, and I can hear them well also. The battery doesn't last as long as I would like, but it's in southern California where I know my car gets hotter than the recommended storage temp, and they warn the battery could drain if it gets too hot. So hopefully this will only be a summer problem. Anyway, I like it and I'd recommend it.
Customer Review: It's ok for the price Summary: 2 Stars
It works, and it's cheap. That's the good news... however the bad news is that the volume is pretty low when maxed (unless you sit right under your visor you'll be leaning forward to hear), there is no AC adapter, so charging can be a hassle unless you buy an additional AC to Cigarette Lighter adapter for charging.
My biggest disappointment is that the adhesive that holds the face plate on does not stand up to California summers well. I finally had to glue mine in place to get it to stay put (otherwise the lights are distractingly bright, so you have to turn them off, luckily this feature is available).
