Customer Review: I must have weird ears...
Summary: 2 Stars

Maybe I have strangely shaped ears, but I have to say that I don't know what all the good reviews are about. I just got back from a run, and these earbuds are definitely not made for any kind of vigorous activity.

After trying the different sizes of molded 'bud covers' included with the product (which, admittedly, is made very well), I settled on the smallest, which fit most snugly in my ear. However, within minutes of setting off, the buds started to come loose, and worked their way out of my ear canals. The instructions included with the buds suggested looping the wires over the top of the ear to remedy this, but this proved useless, as the buds came out even more easily then. This just seems like bad design, and a misunderstanding of ergonomics.

The sounds quality of the buds is dependent on a snug fit in the ear. As soon as the buds loosen, the sound quality begins to bias toward the middle and high tonal range, and you lose nearly all bass reproduction. In addition, the noise isolation is quickly lost when the 'seal' is broken in the ear. So, while the buds seems to produce very crisp sound when I'm stationary or sitting, they're practically useless when used during any kind of vigorous activity, which is primarily why I bought them. Quite frankly I got better performance out of the stock iPod headphones, even with their deteriorating foam covers.

I'll keep these, as they'll be perfectly adequate at my desk (and the $13 price isn't worth the trouble of returning the), but now I'm back in the search for a product that's suitable for exercise...

Bummer.

Customer Review: Worth the money
Summary: 4 Stars

I have always used Skullcandy earphones and they have worked amazingly for me. I lost my earphones so I decided to get something a little cheaper when I fell upon these nifty earphones. I normally hate buying anything that I haven't asked around about, but I thought well, it's only like 13 bucks so might as well.

The Pros!
- Noise Isolation: This product really does the job of a $50 pair of isolation earphones. I walk into class with them sometimes when everyone is trying to get in and out of a 300-500 people lecture room, and I can't hear a thing. Sometimes when I walk down the street, I worry someone might call out to me, because I don't hear anything either.
- Sturdiness: I love that I can touch these earphones and feel like they are going to last. Of course, I've only had them for about 2 weeks, but so far, so good.
- Clarity: The sound is very crisp, and I can hear everything from high pitches to low.

The Cons!
- This is a personal issue and preference about the product. Before I bought this product, I read many many reviews from different sites. Most people say that they can really hear the bass from these earphones, and maybe it's just me, but I just don't hear the type of bass that Skullcandy's earphones. With Skullcandy's earphones, I can literally hear the booming from songs like Shakira's Gypsy or Rihanna's Please Don't Stop the Music or Sean Kingston's Beautiful.

Overall, I love them, but I still prefer the Skullcandy earphones :) They are worth the buy if you don't have like $30 bucks to spend on Skullcandy ones ^__^V

Customer Review: jBuds are Ear Buddies
Summary: 5 Stars

These were my fourth pair of earbuds and the most impressive I've owned. The wiring and connections are solid and reinforced. I've replaced earbuds when the wiring breaks or the sound volume becomes unequal.

I'm hard on earbuds. My workday starts late in the morning and lasts until late in the evening. I need to still be asleep when the gardeners come with their leaf blowers and weed whackers. Earbuds serve a dual purpose: they keep sound out and give me pleasant sounds to sleep by. Being a bit of an insomniac, my MP3 player helps me to fall asleep each night as well. This is tough on earphones.

I'm impressed with the construction of these buds. Stress points are well reinforced and unlikely to fail. But ruggedness isn't the primary reason for buying phones ... sound quality is.

These are second to none when it comes to sound quality. Bass is solid with no distortion. The midrange and highs are crisp and clear. I've listened to everything from hip-hop to classical and they have provided a superior listening experience.

The worst feature of these phones is that they have a straight plug into the media player instead of an angled plug. This makes it easier to accidently unplug the phones. At worst, a minor drawback. Also, the barrel of the buds is a bid longer than others. At first I thought this would be a problem with lying on a pillow, but it hasn't disturbed me at all.

These utterly dominate all the other earbuds I've owned, both in terms of construction quality and in terms of sound. Buy a pair with confidence - you can't go wrong.

Customer Review: So Far So Good
Summary: 4 Stars

First of all, I received the J2s within one day, even though I picked Standard Shipping. I have to say that is great. Next, the shipping package was nice, very minimalistic to conserve plastic. All very good.

As for the product itself, the aesthetics are nice and sleek and the area where the jack is connected to the wire looks very sturdy and I can tell that you will never have any problems with the wiring i.e. losing sound in one ear or the other.
The sound quality right out of the package, as many others have said, is very bass-favoring. It really pounds in your ear and you can tell the difference when you listen to your old iPod earphones. That being said, there is a burn-in time and a burn-in track that Jlabs provides on their website, and I can say that after the amount of time they recommend (24 hours), there was a better, more even sound produced. I love them so far and have no complaints, but if you really want more treble through your headphones, look to the J3s, they have been said to be clearer and crisper in the higher ranges. Overall, for 13.99, I don't think you can find a better pair of earphones.

Update: Two Months Later
I was twirling my headphones around and when I put them back into my ears, sound was not going to one of the ears. Sad day. I eventually bought Skull Candies and have been using them since, and there is a big difference between the two. The Skull Candies were 7 bucks at Marshalls and sound much crisper than the Jbuds J2. I don't know, i think its personal preference but give the Skull Candies a shot.

Customer Review: Great looking earphones but poor quality.
Summary: 2 Stars

My Jbuds were shipped from amazon.com on April 23, 2010. Just last week, I noticed that the plastic part where it has the "Jbuds" logo, detached from the earpiece. Consequently, the sound is not coming from that particular side. It's been less than 3 months.. what's up with that? While I like the look of the Jbuds and the comfort, if I'm going to pay more than $10 for a commodity item, I'd like it to last longer than a year.
