Customer Review: Great quality and comfort for the price
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased these for my son as a fun holiday stocking stuffer but did not really appreciate them until I borrowed them when my own set broke. Until buying the JBuds, I had been using the Apple set that came with my iPod Shuffle and now do not know how I used those for so long. These are so comfy that I don't even feel them. Other ear buds make my ears hurt from the pressure. I listen to audio books for hours while doing other things and sometimes fall asleep while listening. These stay soft and comfortable the whole time. The sound quality is great as well, at least from what I can tell. Music lovers may notice a difference I cannot when listening to books, but the quality beats Apple's any day. I can't believe how inexpensive they are. I would buy these again and would happily pay more for these.

The customer service from JLabs is incredible, too. I had purchased a more expensive set of JLabs ear buds for myself, but they were damaged (not the product's fault, just an accident). JLab sent me a new pair immediately, without any questions. They sent me an even better pair, too, one with a shorter cable since I had mentioned my preference. I can't remember the last time I received that kind of customer service in any industry. I love the ear buds for their comfort and quality, but I will be a lifelong customer of JLab for their customer service.

Customer Review: not worth $20
Summary: 2 Stars

I got these earbuds to replace the current ipod earphones that i've been using. after reading many reviews on these jbuds and seeing the many positive feedback, i was excited to try them out for myself.

i had many complaints with the original ipod earphones that comes with the ipod: two of the biggest issues were that they lost sound quality at higher volumes, and their lack of bass

the jbuds solved both these issues. the bass is very powerful and can be adjusted easily with the EQ settings on my ipod. Also the sound kept the same quality at higher volumes. The noise-reduction was also great. the medium-size earbuds provided a good fit and at moderate volumes i could not hear the TV on in the room

However i was quite disappointed with the rest of the performance. Like other reviewers have said before, the bass is good but the overall sound is muddy, kinda like how your hearing gets damped and faded when your ears pop cus of elevation changes. I tried adjusting this by raising the midrange/treble on the EQ. It helped a little, but not much. Although the earbuds provide a more powerful sound than the regular ipod earphones, it is not nearly as crisp

overall, i would say these are better than the ipod earphones (but not by much). However, i regret having to spend $20 for a product that's mediocre at best

Customer Review: "Noise Reducing" -- oh please.
Summary: 2 Stars

I ordered these earbuds to replace my very solid Apple earbuds because they were advertised prominently as "Noise Reducing Earbuds!" Upon receipt, I quickly opened the package, anxious to try this cool technology to block out noise, as I own several medium and full sized noise-cancelling headsets, which is a misnomer in truth because I've yet to find a set that truly cancels outside noise vs. masks / reduces it. Before trying, I looked at the package that explained that the earbuds block out noise because they are, well, in your ear. There was no noise reducing technology, just normal mechanical reduction from putting something in your ear, similar to a tissue, q-tip or earplug. As a CEO of an agency, my immediate reaction was "shouldn't these guys get sanctioned for misleading advertising?" All headsets, earplugs, etc. are noise reducing to some extent...but to use that as a headline or focus on that "supposed benefit" in ad copy is just plain sleezy. Kept them because it wasn't worth the hassle of returning, but don't use them as my Apple earbuds are significantly better in any case. JBL has earned a rare entry into my personal hall of shame. Maybe I should have simply bought a box of Kleenex...would have been less expensive and at least I could have also serviced my sneeze while listening to music.

Customer Review: you get what you pay for
Summary: 2 Stars

I was assured enough by the positive reviews and good price that I went ahead and bought these. At first I was impressed by the sound quality and comfort. for about two months, these earphones worked rather well. there are two problems, however:

1. the ear buds' rubber earpieces fall off very easily.

just pulling them out of my pocket, I lost several of the rubber ear-pieces. they blend in with asphalt and sidewalks perfectly, and are nearly impossible to find once dropped. the company includes a few extra sets, but I was on the last set (which didn't even fit) in about two months. this is annoying, but minor compared to...

2. the left ear bud stopped working.

it's unbelieveable how much worse the sound is when only one ear bud is working. at first it would crackle in and out when I moved the cord around, and then it conked completely. now I have to buy another pair.

overall, you get what you pay for. I think a lot of these reviews were based on maybe 1 or 2 weeks' performance, which is why the buds are rated so high. it's true: at first, they seem great. my advice is to not let this fool you. in my experience, these ear buds don't stand the test of time.

Customer Review: comfortable, work well!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've always been told my ears are small in size: but I discovered with regular earphones that my ears are also small INSIDE, making music-listening quite a painful experience for any extensive amount of time (I know it sounds stupid). I basically couldn't use any other earphones without just having to go with full-out HEADphones that wouldn't hurt my ear-canal.

I like these because they came with 3 sizes of buds for different sized ears (YEAH!). I had to go with the smallest, obviously, but it's definitely proved to work well: haven't had a single ear-ache yet and the sound quality is really good as well. I'm no electronics genius, but I can tell you I know when my ears hurt (or when they don't), when something is comfortable (or very much NOT), and that when I have these in I don't have to BLAST the music (bad for ear drums) to be able to hear it well: less volume is sufficient with less background noise. I put these in and it's like a movie: watching the scenes pass by with MUSIC, but no strange voices or outside noise squeezing it's way in.

For me, that makes it a good buy and good quality. These are the only ones I use and I've had them for 4 months now. GOOD BUY, esp for the price!
