Customer Review: Get a case for them if you can.
Summary: 5 Stars

It's been almost a year since I bought these great headphones. I spent hours looking online for the best quality/price, and found these to be a perfect fit.

The sound was great for $20. I've had several pairs of below 50 dollar headphones, and these have been the best. The comfort is unparalleled! Yes, you can actually fall asleep with these on (however, they do tend to slip off at some point when you're asleep). Warning: Be careful not to lose the rubber earpieces. They stay put alright, but rough handling may cause them to come off at times.

My Jbuds finally gave out a week ago when the left bud stopped working. I tried to fix the headphones several times, but finally ended up taking them apart (I'm the curious type). The wiring leaves a bit more to be desired, but then again, I have put these through a year of abuse (backpack, pocket, tangled in my car, a little water, sun, heat, cold, etc.) and they held up great.

***If you get these, be sure to have a little case or something to put them in.***

Right now, I just noticed the Sony Mdr-Ex32Lp ($20.69) headphones, and I'm torn between getting another set of Jbuds or getting the Sony.

In my opinion though, the Jbuds are a good, durable set of headphones that will give you tremendous listening pleasure for months and years to come.

Because I am an art student, I heavily rely on music to keep my creativity flowing. I listen to music constantly, probably for hours everyday. The only earbuds I've used are the white ones that come with the IPOD, and those cause a lot of problems for me. One reason is that I have to jack up the volume to the max. to cancel out most of the noise around me. This really helps me focus, but it hurts my ears so badly and I'm pretty sure I am going deaf. After a while I get headaches and neck pains, and I tense up.

I've only had these JBuds for a day and I really do love em'. I jumped right online just to type up this review. The earbuds fit my ear perfectly and I only have to turn the volume up a little less than half-way to cancel out the noise.

Okay, one thing I must admit is that the sound isn't that crisp. But hello! It is 10 dollars! I'm an avid music listener...but the perfection of the sound quality means little to me. Just as long as I'm getting the rhythm and beats, and can still keep my hearing, I'm a realllyyyy satisfied customer.

If you're like me, meaning you listen to music all day long, and don't really mind a little less than perfect sound, then this is a fantastic find for you! And if this thing lasts for a while, I'm going to have to jump back on here and write another well-satisfied review!

Customer Review: Ouch.

For under $10 I shouldn't have expected much. But the high rating made me let my guard down. Not good. These little buds are discreet but nothing more. First off I had to stick them very far inside my ear form them to stay in my ear with me being still. As soon as I started walking they started to move and fall out as if I was doing the 50 yard dash. Plus, with moving them so far into my ear not only did it hurt, but the sound quality was horrible.

Maybe my ears are weird. Maybe I'm just wearing the product wrong. Either way, this product does not deserve it's 4 1/2 start rating. Spend some extra cash and get better buds.

Edit 01/26/2010:

The company that made these JBuds made an attempt to fix the problem, attempt being the key word. First, they told me to "burn" the buds by leaving them running on the loudest setting on my player. Never have I ever heard of doing this on any other ear buds I've bought. Then they said they would send me silicon tips in various sizes since the ones on the bud hurt my ears. This was on the 7th of this month. Even if it was with standard shipping, the tips would have arrived by now. And no where did they say I had to order new buds, or pay shipping. I was told they would be sent. Period. If I could give these buds AND the company zero stars, I would. Don't buy from them.

Customer Review: Will make a good Back up Pair
Summary: 3 Stars

Personally i've always been very against earbuds, for no other reason then the fact i've only ever used the very cheap pairs that have come with walkmans etc. They're always super wide, and cause my ear tons of irritation, even after a simple 30min use. Something that makes these earbuds great is they've taken away my skepticism of earbuds having to be uncomfortable. The tips that were packaged felt great in my ear, and i could picture having them in my ears for long durations without discomfort.

I am an audiophile and musician, so i know good sound, listening to music consistantly on $1000 dynaudio monitors. However i adjusted my expectations accordingly since i got these for only $15. I found that on my ipod, the smiley eq (ie. rock) tended to be one of the best as treble seems to be a bit in the background, and the bass becomes a bit richer, while the mid is very audible. Overall the sound is very adequite for the pricerange, but it sounds a bit like its coming through a tube. You're not getting that crytal clear in your face, the singer is standing right beside me kind of feeling. However that may be a lot to ask for $15. I may consider an upgrade to a higher quality pair, i only hope they'll have the same if not better comfort as the jbuds. I wouldn't throw these away though as they'll definitely be a great backup.

Customer Review: Excellent
Summary: 5 Stars

On my first use of these headphones, I was a little scared. The first time I hit play, one ear wasn't playing. I fiddled with the connector, and it worked fine. A few minutes later I stopped playing music to talk to someone, and when I hit play again, only one earphone played. Again, I jiggled the connector and the earphones worked perfectly fine. Since then I haven't had an issue with them.

The JBuds sound absolutely great. They sound nice and clear. The bass isn't too heavy, but it's still easily noticeable, which is awesome. And I have to say that these are by far the most comfortable in-ear headphones I have ever owned. You barely notice them when they're in, and even if you're laying on one ear, you still hardly feel them. This is the only pair of earphones that have managed to accomplish that for me.

My last pair of headphones was the Phillips HE591. The Phillips, perhaps, had a tad fuller sound (it's really close), but they were huge compared to the JBuds and therefore very uncomfortable. The JBuds extreme comfort far outweighs any slight difference in sound quality. Plus, on the Phillips, the rubber covers fell off pretty easily and I lost all of them quickly. The JBuds ones are much more secure.

Overall these earbuds were definitely worth the money. I'm very happy with the purchase.
