Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Iomega eGo USB 2.0 320 GB Rugged Portable Hard Drive (Ruby Red)Customer Review: Exceeded Expectations Summary: 5 Stars
Great product. Have been considering a NAS system for the home network to backup digital photos, music, and notebook files. But also needed an inexpensive quick and dirty backup option and this fit the bill ($100).
Worked right out the box (still cold from the porch) and backed up many GBs of data in minutes. Already formatted with NTFS and contains USB cable.
Very fast. Great capacity. Very nicely packaged - small, compact, and stylish.
Highly recommended.
Customer Review: BP gsec Summary: 5 Stars
This nice red flask works quite well and fits in my jacket pocket. First I worried about the two-pronged USB cable that came with it, but I used the drive on 4 different computers (including 3 laptops, one of them is Dell from 2003) and never needed second USB port to power it. This is not a speed monster, but neither is any other portable drive. I'm completely satisfied with performance. I give 5 stars for look and feel/build quality/size and 4 for performance.
Customer Review: Not for Windows 7, 64 bit Summary: 3 Stars
This is a great portable storage unit with one exception: it doesn't work with (2) Windows 7, 64 bit systems in my company. I have (1) eGo 320GB and (2) eGo 250GB hard drives. I tried getting help from Iomega with no luck. My computer IT guy couldn't get them to work either. They still work great with my other Windows XP, 32 bit systems. You won't be disappointed as long as you keep them away from 64 bit systems.
Customer Review: A fantastic Product Summary: 5 Stars
I recently purchased the Iomega eGo Rugged Portable Hard Drive 320GB. I have never used a portable hard drive before so I have nothing to compare it to, but it seemed to backup all the files on my computer very quickly. If you are someone who cares about style you will be very happy with the appearance. Also, if anyone is not sure whether this is for Macs or PC, they should know that it is compatible with both.
Customer Review: Died from a 3 foot drop Summary: 1 Stars
I had it for 3 months and it is dead. The light comes on and I hear the disk, but computers can no longer see the drive.
I dropped it from 3 feet on my wood floor. It was idle when it dropped, but apparently that does not matter.
Do not believe the term "rugged." It was not a bad drop at all, yet it killed the drive.
Oh well.
