I bought my PC (bare bone kit) about 6 months ago thinking I had a good deal. I realized what kind of processor It obtained after I purchased it. I didn't really look into it at first before I actully made the order. I just seen the procossr had 3.00Ghz and went for it (differant processor NOt duo). It was an IntelŪ PentiumŪ Processor E5700 (2M Cache, 3.00 GHz, 800 MHz FSB). while looking at the specs, I noticed it was for a low end user not suitable for a gaming PC. If you don't know what your looking for, you can really get screwed. Well, For monnths now I have been debaiting on buying a processor and or a bundle deal processor with a motherboard (1156)UPGRAD Future wise).Iive been really looking into the differant performanses that is sutible for a LGA775 socket and the reviews for varous one's.
There is one problem here with peoples reviews that I have not seen here (or anywhere els) as a precuation on making dicision on upgrading a CPU. I've noticed how no one explains how importain it is to make sure the compatablilty's of the motherboard and a CPU has to be. I have to say as a precation on doing this, it is really not so easy just choosing any Processor that is a LGA 775 socket or any other besides that. All I've I seen is how great or how bad the out come came out. Well I'm going to tell what to look for while another person can find a real opinion in what to look for by looking for a paticlaur CPU.
well let me tell you how I decided. I had to look at all the spects on my motherboard (keep this in mind, The first step on building a Computer, is starting with the CPU/processor) See where your motherbord has been manufactured . Also check the bois type to see if you nee an upgrade for your motherboard BOIs. The reson for this, is to check for a compatablilty spec upon the processor your concidering on buying. I found this with my manufacture on test ithas done with my paticular mother board. Also keep in mind, if you need a Bois upgrad for the processor your getting, make sure you know what your doing or you can render the entire motherboard to not function at all.
I also found out, that the lates Bois a maufatuer comes out with for a motherboard is not always the correct one. It is updated for users who are having known issuse. in other words, don't try to fix something that don't need to be fixed (just a tip).
Another thing, FSB is important to consider. Example; You find that you have a motherboard that has only 800 FSB, This Duo processor is not for you. This processor is a 1333 FSB system bus.
My Opinon on this processor, It has much better perfomance than what I had before. NOw my HD compatabilty indacator with Nero10 platnum, Is not reading to upgrade my processor. It is suitible for HD playing and editing. I am still considering on getting the 1156 (socket type) soon though I just have to have it.
