I originally thought these didn't work. But upon reading some more reviews about it, I have figured out the problem. You have to get the batteries in just right to get them to work. I had to re-insert them like 500 times, then press on them exactly right to get them to work. They work great when plugged into the laptop or any device that does not use the batteries, but the whole reason why I bought these speakers was to have PORTABLE speakers to take to the pool or beach, NOT to plug them into the wall (I have my expensive bose speakers for that...). SO all in all, they work ok, just jiggle the batteries a lot and try not to move the unit. I am still very disapointed.Customer Review: Da BOMB

I LOVE these speakers. They're great for any time or place. They fold up nice and small and have great quality (especially for the price)! The only thing I can think of that don't like is that when you run low on power (which dosent often happen) they lose their quality and I know that sounds stupid because that happens with most speakers, but what's different about these is that the last 15% or so of battery suddenly jumps into bad quality rather than slowly easing in like other speakers. Jumping so suddenly can really ruin a song when it happens, but really isn't so bad after all these speakers are pretty energy efficient. Overall, I would recommend these to anyone.Customer Review: Good speaker, but may need some home fixing.

The problem with these speakers is the glue used to adhere the speakers to the plastic housing. The glue becomes brittle and loses it's adherence. My speakers fell apart because of this.
So, I unscrewed the housing and stuffed a folded paper napkin between the inside back of the speaker housing and the metal back of the speaker, to cause the speaker to push forward against the housing. Then I screwed it back together and it was fine. For the price I don't mind doing this and I like the sound and portability and would actually recommend these speakers. I like these speakers and their sound quality but I can't seem to edit my one star rating.

i Just received my speakers today for my ipod mini. i Love it, its perfect for your room when you don't want to bother your ears with head phones or your office. i only see 2 problems, one is that the battery will have to be replaced many times or you will have to constantly charge your ipod but this problem can be solved by buying a wall adapter for the speakers.overall great product and worth the bargain, only 4 bucks!!
One more great thing about it is, that it not only connects to the iPod, but nearly anything with a headphone jack (computer, CD player, PSP, Nintendo DS, other name brand MP3's..Zune and anything you can think of)

I purchased these speakers to take with me on vacation. They do fold up nicely and the sound is about as good as a typical portable radio, and they are nice to have when you want a simple solution for listening to your iPod while on the road. However, beware that the unit is very cheaply made. I found that I could not put on the battery cover without displacing the batteries enough that the unit would not power on. I had to leave the battery cover off or loose on the unit. I don't think these will be a permanent set of travel speakers for my iPod--they are just too cheaply made to be reliable. It's worth the money I paid--but just barely.
