Customer Review: The ONLY thing you need to know.

Go to www.pacrimtechnologies.com and buy their version. It costs about $20 total (shipping included) and comes with an AC power cord. It's quality is far better than the cheap knock offs sold here. It actually sounds better, and feels like it costs two to three times what pacific rim is currently charging ($9.99). This is the only speaker set you need to buy. period.
Unfortunately, I first bought these cheap little knock offs. I mean hey, they were only $6 with shipping. They actually sound pretty good. They are very inexpensive, BUT they are also very poorly made. The right speaker didn't work out of the box. The seller, Clear AV, was nice enough to send out a free replacement. The replacement arrived in two days, but that one was completely non-functioning out of the box. Good news is I was able to splice the right speaker from the replacement unit onto the first unit, and it works fine. However, see above.

As always, one has to have a realistic expectation to go with the price of anything one purchases. Given that, these little speakers, at well under $10 are astounding.
Yes, they're not of the highest quality, but they've worked for my kids well, the sound/volume is excellent for their needs (or even higher). Any plastic product of this nature is relatively fragile, and it surprises me that so many feel the necessity of commenting on this.
I purchased three sets, one for each kid and one spare. The batteries fit and stay put, the covers all work, the "player tray" works both in use and folded. The sound is best when the volume on the player (iPod, cd, etc) is set to maximum and the playback is controlled by the speakers.
I have absolutely no hesitation in giving these five stars. If my kids get six months use from them, we're are megadollars ahead of the game.

I admit, my standards weren't too high considering I paid only five bucks for these. They are nicely designed though. I love the design and how they fold up small, and how the headphone jack cable folds around the unit in a little groove so it's hidden.
But the sound problems are pretty bad. If the volume is loud at all, (not even blasting loud) they buzz and it's impossible to enjoy the music or understand what they're saying. Also, there's odd static that I can hear when the volume is at any level, even when there's no music coming through the speakers at the time.
Overall, these are NOT even worth the cheap price I paid for them. They are okay for lower volumes so they get two stars, but they wouldn't be too good to hear the music very well across a room.
I don't recommend them. Spend a few bucks on another kind.

So when I went shopping for speakers for my Creative Zen V Plus mp3 player I was a little frightened that nearly everything was at least $20.
Then I came across this and it seemed like it'd be pretty good, and even if it wasn't it was only $4 so not much of a loss on it anyway.
But these little speakers work fantastically! Easy to put together at first, and once you put in the batteries it works great! They're pretty powerful for the size that they are! The back does leave a little overhang when the batteries are in, but it's not that bad, AND it fits the wire PERFECTLY so it's not swinging back and forth if you're transporting the speakers!
All in all this is definitely worth the $5 (shipping included) that I spent on it and would encourage everybody who's looking for speakers to try these out!
Customer Review: A good little device at a great price!

I'll start with the bottom line. This is a great device that does exactly what it is supposed to do. This thing will suit any situation that you want to play music without headphones in a reasonably sized area and do not require very high volume. For the meager price it is a great buy! The speakers provide a good sound when running at a reasonable volume level. When taking the device to capacity it can get a little muddy on the bass, but nothing that notable. I primarily use it in my bathroom to play music while I shower and whenever I am spending a lot of time grooming. The sound can cut through the noise of the shower, the door of the shower, and my singing (whenever I am singing along). Great for listening within a group of people or simply setting the vibe of a room. All in all I would definitely recommend.
