It didn't say anywhere on the package or any place that this couldn't be placed in a dishwasher. The day I got it I put it in my dishwasher on normal settings and the thing came out all tarnished and with black residue all over it. I would guess it was so type of chemical reaction with the metal but I'm not sure. Don't waist you money on this!
