Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of IOGear Enhanced Data Rate Bluetooth USB Adapter with Range up to 66 ft. GBU221Customer Review: Decent product, but beware of their drivers Summary: 4 Stars
This product works fine, but beware of the drivers on their CD if you're using Vista. I had such problems that in the end I had to reinstall Office from scratch, which was a huge pain. Eventually, I uninstalled their drivers and it worked fine with plug and play. Otherwise, a great buy and much cheaper than buying stuff from Apple.
Customer Review: Just work as it should, easy and cheap Summary: 5 Stars
It is working and it is cheap and it was easy to install. Now I can make VoIP call with my BT headset. Imagine that: making long distance or even international call, hand free, and free while moving around the house.
The product has Broadcom chip inside so I expect the quality will be good for a long time.
Customer Review: Works in Vista x64 Summary: 5 Stars
I had to search hi & low for an adapter that would work in Vista x64 (Premium Edition). I was trying to get my Treo 700p to synch (there are no 64bit USB drivers for the Treo). This uses Microsoft's Bluetooth stack (some others install their own) and worked well with both Vista and the Palm hotsync.
Customer Review: Just Works Summary: 4 Stars
When I tried it in XP, plug and play kept interrupting my installation and I finally gave up. After I tried it on my linux machine, it started working with no special attention.
I haven't yet given it another shot in Windows but I can recommend this item for Ubuntu with Gnome.
Customer Review: perfectly portable Summary: 4 Stars
I had a bluetooth headset for my phone and wanted to use it with Skype - I just plugged in the adapter, and away I went. There was a little confusion with the drivers (should have read the instructions first) but otherwise it works just great - easy, compact, and a great range.
