Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of IOGEAR USB Optical Mini Mouse 800 (GME222A)Customer Review: Good Little Mouse! Summary: 4 Stars
This replaced a Microsoft 3000 wireless mouse that lasted less than a year (wouldn't buy one again after that experience). Using it on a laptop with Vista, it installed and was up and running in (literally) a few seconds. The shape and size are comfortable for me, better than a couple of others I tried (I have fairly large hands). Buttons and wheel have a good feel; tracking is good. Rubber wheel is as big as on "full size" mouse. The construction feels a little light but no worse than other small mice I've used. The retractable cord length is fine. I like that it came with a little storage pouch. Even better, I really like that it came with a USB extension cord, a bit over 3ft. long; great idea for those times when the retractable cord might be too short. Good product at a reasonable price that I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.
Customer Review: Sometimes a little awkward Summary: 3 Stars
Have been using this mini mouse for about a month now. I bought it for my work laptop because my wireless mouse kept running out of battery charge. It fits into my laptop case well and it looks good. I have a Toshiba mini mouse for my home system that I have been using for about 6 months which has been working out well. With the IOGear mini mouse, there are times when the mouse just doesn't seem to fit my hand - it is slightly narrower than the Toshiba and it seems to force my fore finger further out - making it harder to click the mouse buttons. It maybe a matter of getting used to the new mouse, but these are my observations thus far. Other than that, the mouse works well and the wheel is great.
Customer Review: Mighty Mini!! Summary: 4 Stars
As a frequent flyer/business traveler, I find briefcase space a premium. I prefer a mouse to the mousepad on my laptop, and I have found that the primary competitive mini-mouse, at $20 w/one year warranty, barely lasts a year. When I found this mini at Amazon, half the price, and with a 3-year warranty, I knew I'd try it. So far it has performed beautifully, and I could not be more pleased with its size (if you haven't used a mini-mouse before, you might find it awkward at first - but trust me - after a short period of adjustment you'll prefer them to the full-sized models). It is too soon to comment on the durability of this product, but I will say that it appears to be very well-built.
Customer Review: cute but poor quality Summary: 2 Stars
the left-click button (kind of important) is sticking/not always working already, and i just bought this mouse 2 months ago.
i use it every time i am on my laptop because the dell touchpad broke and i couldn't afford the time to ship it out for service. so maybe it would be ok if you only use the mouse occasionally. but i doubt it.
it's kind of light and plastic-y and a little too skinny (not wide enough) to feel really comfortable. (i only use mini mouses because they're more convenient to carry around, and i've never really felt this way until i got this one, which is less round and more rectangular/narrow than others of a more standard shape.)
Customer Review: One tough mouse Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this mouse in June of 2009, so I've been using it for over a year now and it's held up remarkably. At first I was very careful with it; I'd put it in the velvet pouch and tuck it in a safe pocket inside my briefcase. Now I just throw it in there and often chuck books, binders, and my laptop right on top of it. This mouse can take a beating!
It's small, cute, durable, and easy to use. My only complaint is that the retractable cord is touchy. Sometimes it gets twisted and stuck, and I have to futz with it to get it to retract all the way. But then the retractable cords on my iron and vacuum are also a pain, so maybe that's just the nature of the beast.
