I was going to scrap my old Dell 700MHz desktop but took a chance and installed XP Home w/SP2 and this card in the last open slot. Everything runs fast. It's like a new computer. No glitches with this card (10 months now). Running two external hard drives and a HP all-in-one printer/scanner/copier. Still have one open USB slot. If needed I could daisy-chain a hub to get even more USB 2.0 slots. Very happy with this item. Can get another 2-3 years of life out of this computer. Waiting for the next generation of quad chipped CPUs to be born. This was truly a plug-n-play item. Very simple, very satisfied...Question: what could I connect to the one internal USB slot?Customer Review: 5 stars so far

I bought this based on the reviews here and the price.
I did a lot of research on how to replace a usb card.
I was told to remove the old card but the old usb was actually attached to the motherbosrd and not in a pci slot.
(Gateway, intel III, 996MHz, 512MB ram., XP Home(service pack 2))
I saw some caveats on removing usb 1 drivers before installing the new one but I didn't do it.
When I got it, I just put it into the open pci slot and restarted.
I got a few messages as it recognized each usb device and then it just worked.
No problems at all, so far.

These cards are excellent for upgrading older PC's that only have USB 1.1 ports built-in or never had any USB capability.
I added one from Amazon to my brother's 600 mhz Celeron (circa 2000 home-brewed PC with Abit BM6 motherboard). I added a second card to his financee's 600 mhz Celeron (1999 vintage HP Pavilion 6730 with Trigem Cognac motherboard). Both cards are working perfectly. The key to this is that both machines are running Windows 2000 which supports USB 2.0 if you're running the latest service pack for Windows 2000.
I plan on buying a third card for my old Pentium-166 mhz which never had any USB.

It was dead when arrived. Also, they have drivers on their website but they don't tell you they aren't for Vista and Win 7, and that the latter OS's (should) have the drivers required. Finally, their tech support is about as bad as it gets. Although they answer the phone within a reasonable period of time, it is impossible to understand what these foreign language people are saying, and they take up far more time than necessary to diagnose/resolve a problem - totally dysfunctionality. Furthermore, their website says you can do a Chat session, but there is no link on the page, or any other indication of how to initial a session.Customer Review: Works exactly as advertised

Actually, I bought 2 of these USB cards, one for my son's PC. Since the USB chip on his motherboard had somehow "fried," I had one of his 2 network cards removed & replaced with the IOGear USB card. A friend who knows a lot more about computers than I do said he "fooled" the motherboard into recognizing this USB card, & it worked like a charm. Now my son can run multiple USB devices off this card, including a USB wireless device; he also has a 7-port USB hub which works equally well off this card. We're very pleased with this purchase, since, thanks to this card, my son now has USB ports that actually work.
