Customer Review: Superb product for elderly parent

I bought this for my elderly father who has a degree of dementia. While it does not permit selecting a channel by number, he happily clicks through the channels with the easy up/down buttons. That's what he usually did anyway with more advanced TV remotes.
With more complicated remotes, he had developed a tendency to click various buttons at random, frequently disrupting the TV settings and getting frustrated. That will never happen again with this simple-to-use controller.
The only issue that I had was that the set-up was not quite as easy as the instructions implied. It took me about three tries to get it tuned to the TV. However, that's a one-time problem and just took a little patience and repetition.

This is a fantastic product. In this day & age of "universal" remotes, I looked all over for an easy remote for my 90 year old mother to use. This one is just that. If you can believe this, she had a little trouble figuring it out, but being 90, I guess that is normal. The remote reminds me a little of remotes in hospital rooms, with the exception that it doesn't shut off at a certain point. If only she didn't have "15,000" channels to go through, she wouldn't have problems. That isn't the remote's fault though. The nursing home where she lives called to ask where I got this remote. They talked about getting 10 or 15 to have on hand for residents that had trouble with their own TV remotes.Customer Review: Great product

I bought this for my grandmother. She received a new TV for Christmas in preparation for the change to digital over the air television. Her old TV still had the twit knob style channel selector, and her Alzheimer's would have made learning the new remote nearly impossible. I wanted her to have a simple remote that would be very easy to use and not allow her to access the TV's menu system.
This remote is great. Programming it was a breeze. It does exactly what it needs to do. It is large and easy to handle. The text and buttons are also large, making them very easy to read and press.
Overall, this remote is exactly what we needed, and it has worked beautifully.

Purchased for our elderly parents to control an Envision and an Olevia LCD HDTV. The manufacturer's remotes have too many buttons and the buttons are too small.
This remote looked to be ideal: just a couple of large backlit buttons.
Thought this remote would be very universal given it's purposeful lack of features.
Can't get it to work either of the TVs. A search of the manufacturer's website didn't help at all and an email inquiry 24+ hours ago has not been answered.
So, it looks ideal but check the website to see if the other remotes they sell work with the brand and model of TV you have. That might help the probabilities. Might.

We purchased this remote for my elderly father who lives in a nursing home. He has severe arthritis in both hands and the tv remote buttons were too small and close together and too confusing. Every time he tried to use the remote he wound up reprogramming it, he would get frustrated and just turn the tv off. This remote is lightweight, the buttons are large and easy to press even with his limited mobility, and the remote is a good size for his misshapen fingers. He is very happy with his new remote. We were impressed with how easy it was to program, yet not so easy that he can accidentally unprogram it! We highly recommend this remote for anyone with mobility or confusion issues.
