I tried to use this w/ the hood on my Canon 7D. This is useless and expensive and you will feel ripped off.
First, it doesn't hold it steady. It keeps dragging the hood down.
Second, though you can move it so it doesn't cover the knobs and other important buttons, it makes it look and feel awkward as your holding the camera.
In short, absolutely useless. Do not buy.
