I bought this to replace the same one i had purchased 2 years ago. (i thought). But the sound is not nearly as loud as the previous model, which was about 2 inches larger. However this one is very light to carry around and the power cord is also much lighter so that is a big plus. But if you are going to try to use this anywhere that has background noise it is not loud enough. It is perfect for an office, hotel etc where you don't want to annoy others.Customer Review: Great sound for a small speaker system...

I had modest expectations for this speaker, considering the low price, but was pleasantly surprised by the features and sound quality. You can control your iPod from the included remote, including essentially all of the iPod's music controls. The sound quality is very good, although not quite as good as Bluetooth sound in your car. I have not yet tried in battery only mode, but based upon what I've seen so far,I expect it to be more than acceptable.Customer Review: Great if you like hissing

First of all, the sound quality is excellent, especially for such a compact speaker. However, I purchased this item so that I could listen to my iPod while at my desk at work. When played at a loud volume, you can drown out the crackling and hissing sounds. However, given that I wanted to listen to the music at a low volume, the constant hiss coming from the speakers was very annoying and rendered this item useless for my intended purpose.Customer Review: Defective design - Interference noise while charging!

I purchased this product without first doing enough research and am unfortunately returning it. When my current generation iTouch is docked there is garbled sound coming from the speakers due to interference from the charging mechanism.
After researching this I found out that IT HAS BEEN A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR A YEAR+.
Don't waste your time if you own an iTouch. Proceed with caution if you own something else.

Bought this for a 1G iPod Mini. Listing said it was compatible and the price was right (ie cheaper than latest gen On-Stage-Micro). Didn't have super-high expectations for sound, but have been very pleasantly surprised. Has great sound for the size unit it is and descent power (volume). Is fully compatible with the 1G Mini as advertised, right down to the remote, which was an added bonus. Add in prompt shipping and it's all good.
