Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of JBL On Stage Micro Portable Speaker Dock for iPod (Black)Customer Review: Not what I expected :( Summary: 3 Stars
General - Bought this for myself, but product wasn't as good as described. The product's sides are completely perforated to look like there is more physical speaker space when really there are only two speakers roughly an inch to an inch and a half in diameter on the front.
Sounds Quality - not good. When an iPod is in the dock, there is static coming through the speakers. I'm not sure why it only happens when the iPod is in the dock and not necessarily when the speakers are playing from the iPod.
Compatibility - I did not have problems with my iPod Touch Gen 1 like some people did (unless the static has something to do with that).
Overall - I don't believe it's worth the money. I got a refund after a week. Unless you have an extra $100 laying around, I would pay a little extra for quality instead of style.
Customer Review: Good for portable podcasts Summary: 3 Stars
This speaker has very limited bass so its best use is for listenning to vocal material not music in a stationary environment.
I tried it in the car but there are several disadvantages to this use. First my iPod was frequently tossed to the floor when I hit a bump because the dock is not tight enough. The other issue is that the speaker would screach constantly when my car hit a bump. Turning it off was the only way to fix this. Another issue is that the volume is not very loud for car use. If you want something for the car, try the On Stage III instead that has more powerful speakers and buy a 12V cigarette adapter so you do not need batteries.
On the plus side, the speaker is extremely compact, portable, and the batteries last a long time. The lack of bass makes it very suitable for vocal programmes.
Customer Review: Good stuff in small package Summary: 4 Stars
Recently got this from Amazon, I had one from another store, B&M one
but I guess that one was an older model as it came with the carrying case,
3.5mm patch cord, remote and system. When I got this one from Amazon
I discovered, what I read later on here in the reviews, that JBL has stopped
providing the handy carrying bag and patch cord, BUT you can buy the bag
from JBL, I was searching Amazon but not able to find it here.
So it's mark isjust under 5 stars for the short sheeting of the extras
must be a marketing ploy that most folks won't use it??? IT'S A PORTABLE
unit, with battery operation, I'd think most would carry it about?
Enough venting, ordered my cord and bag tonight ;-)

Customer Review: After using it for 7 months Summary: 4 Stars
I'm amazed at the quality of sound that comes out of this little guy. I wanted something that would put my ipod touch 2g right at my fingertips but would have a small footprint on my nightstand. I researched and looked all over and thought I'd give the JBL On Stage Micro Portable a try. It's perfect! Smaller and more attractive than I expected and the sound is high quality and fills my bedroom. I couldn't be happier.
After using it for 7 months... I'm downgrading the rating. It's a handy little thing, but the sound isn't always that great. Sometimes it buzzes and you have to move it around or turn the volume down. I don't love it as much as I used to.
Customer Review: PLEASANTLY SURPRISED Summary: 4 Stars
I was not expecting much when I purchased this product. However, the reviews were quite good so I decided to give it a shot. After all, if it was not a good product I would just send it back. I have now had the product for several days now and there is no need to send it back. It is a fine product. The sound is much better than expected. It is loud and clear. There is slight distortion when turned up to a very high volume. This is a small price to pay. At normal volume levels or even slightly higher than normal volume levels, it sounds fine. It is extremely portable and overall a wonderful choice for some looking for an ipod dock.
