I got these speakers in 2006 and I'm still enjoying them today. I read some of the reviews here and decided to leave one myself. These are computer speakers, you are only going to get out of them what you put in. If you are using the sound card built into your motherboard you may not have great sound quality. I'm using a SB Audigy and the sound is superb. The bass is awesome for a set of computer speakers. The bass isn't going to shake the walls or rattle the windows, if you want that buy a sub woofer and a good sound card.Customer Review: Good Price; Won't Crack Your Skull

Speakers have good sound for the money. They add a lot to the built-in speakers on my iMac, which left much to be desired. For you audiophiles, you are going to get what you pay for... The speakers have rich sound at a moderate volume level, but they will never make your head explode. The speakers look good, but the volume knob is slippery. I cannot seem to get them to sleep with my computer, so I have to turn them on and off quite a bit. I have been very pleased with the overall quality of my JBL speakers. The deliver clean audio and surprising sound from such a small foot print. The only complaint I would have would be that they are so light in weight, that I have to hold the speaker with the volume control to keep it from moving when adjusting the volume control. Maybe adding a larger non-skid matting on the bottom of the speaker would help keep them in one place. Over all I give them a 4 out of 5. As many other users have stated, the speakers sound great. Voices and music sound clear, and have noticeable bass.
Caveats:
- The knob is slippery, so you probably don't want to adjust them that often. Use audio controls on your computers instead.
- The speakers absolutely will not turn on without the power cord. On my old Sony SRS A37s, I could run them without power at the cost of bass and lower volume, but no sound comes out the JBL's at all.
