Customer Review: adds height, more comfortable use - perfect for MacBooks!
Summary: 5 Stars

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stand! I really wish I had known about it months ago, because it would have saved me months of wrist/thumb pain. Not only does it take pressure off my wrists and hands when typing, it also bumps up the height of the laptop screen several inches. This is great for more compact laptops.

The angle of the laptop is *so* nice. It makes typing so much easier and my fingers are no longer numb and my wrists have stopped hurting.

I added two small squares of foam tape on the "bumps" of the stand to prevent my MacBook Pro from sliding around. It wasn't a big problem, but any movement of my computer bugs me, so I figured I'd nip that issue in the bud before it came up.

I *really* recommend this product to anyone who needs a little "height" to their laptop screen, who needs a more comfortable angle with their laptop keyboard, or wants their laptop to stay cooler during use.

Customer Review: Handstands Cool Lift Portable Notebook Cooling Pad.
Summary: 3 Stars

The product came quickly & was packaged well. It was smaller than what I had anticipated. I think only a netbook that is 14 inches would actually fit this well. It works well if laid on a flat surface, but your laptop shifts and slides off the cooling pad if you hold it in your lap or try to use it lying down on your back. I ended up getting some tape to hold my 17inch laptop in place and then i place the laptop with the pad on a large book when i use it just on my lap. It doesn't remove the heat a laptop generates, but lifts up the laptop allowing air to circulate underneath it,keeping the laptop cooler and your lap from burning if you hold your notebook on your lap. I will probably invest in a bigger cooler with a quiet fan later on, but for $10 including shipping fees, it gets the job done.

Customer Review: Good product for the price
Summary: 4 Stars

I've been using this with my HP Pavilion dv6000t for a couple weeks now. It does it's job well. I haven't had any problems with the laptop slipping off of the cooling pad.

My only gripes are that it's made of foam, and not rubber. It gets dents from the bottom of the laptop. Also, I like to use my laptop with the battery taken out of it when it's plugged in to lengthen the life of the battery, but it doesn't sit as well on this pad because of the placement of the battery cavity. Although, I can't blame Handstands for this, if the pad was made of rubber it would not be dented by the edges of the battery cavity or the laptop's feet.

Bottom line: Good product for great price. If it was made of rubber, it would have received 5 stars.

Customer Review: Small but mighty...
Summary: 4 Stars

I thought I'd give it a try - I'm glad I did! It improved the circulation and cooling on both laptops on my desk, a Dell Inspiron 1420 (my personal laptop) and a Dell Latitude D830 (my government-issued computer). Being here in Iraq, it seems to help keep the computer more free of dust when I clean it. It was inexpensive and works as good the 3-fan USB powered one I used at home, without the noise. It lifts the laptop keyboard into a more comfortable position for viewing and typing. My only complaint - I wish I had bought two in the first place, so I wouldn't have to switch it around. It's light, small, inexpensive enough that if I leave it here when I redeploy, I won't miss it - even a tightwad like me! I'll definitely buy another....

Customer Review: You get what you pay for
Summary: 3 Stars

I wanted a cooling stand for my laptop and found this one to seem fairly cheap and rated in a neutral way.
I've had this stand for about a few months now and and I have noticed a few things:
First, the stand cannot be used on your lap, but of course it doesn't advertise itself to do so so you can't expect it to
Second, if your laptop is somewhat weighty (I have a macbook pro) then the foam will eventually sink and your laptop will begin to slowly fall after time...

Again, you really do get what you pay for. Keep in mind that this stand is completely made out of foam (even though it looks like plastic)

In the end, it does the job, but I might consider paying extra for a more durable stand
