What can go wrong with a power supply? That's what I said when I ordered 2 of these. After all, the Dell units cost $50-70. Well, I don't know how these things are made, because they are sealed units, but if I had an oscilloscope, I would bet that the output of these things is almost AC - probably "pulsating DC". The filtering is terrible! I plugged one of them into my laptop and the cursor froze - when I pulled the cord, the cursor started working again. I plugged one of them into my bedroom outlet, which also has 2 "touch lamps" on the same circuit. Not only would the lamps not work when touched, but would alternately flicker and turn on and off by themselves. When I moved the supply to a different circuit, the lamps worked perfectly.
As the P/S's SEEM to charge the battery in the laptop, They ALMOST work. But they cannot be used to power the laptop in any way, including using either of them to connect to the dock. I was going to just give them away, but I couldn't do that to my friends. Lesson learned - if something is too cheap to believe, it probably is worth what you paid. Spend the extra bucks and get something reliable. These things stink!
