Customer Review: Charges but does not sync iPhone 3G

The enclosed cable charges my iPhone 3G through the PowerJolt car adapter as well as the Apple original 'cube' wall charger. Unlike the Apple cable, it does not sync my iPhone with iTunes on my Win XP laptop: 'itunes could not connect to the iphone because an invalid response was received from the device'. I would only add: '...over the Griffin cable', the Apple cable works fine. Disregard the Griffin claim that the cable syncs and don't charge through your laptop USB (unless you don't mind the error each time you plug in) and you will be happy; The PowerJolt works.Customer Review: It works every time, and that's all that I wanted

It seems weird to me that I couldn't buy just a cheap (below $10) charger and it easily work. But, they don't. I bought two chargers around $5 each and they both crapped out within a couple of months and were flaky even before that. This charger works every time and I don't have to worry about it flaking out on me. I wish it only cost $5, but that's because I'm a cheap engineer. Rationally speaking, it is easily worth $15. Oh, and I have a 3GS, so no worries about the packaging not explicitly stating that it works for 3GS.Customer Review: Good but there is something wrong with my car!

This is a great product. Does exactly what it says it does. But if you are like me and hear a buzz when you try to charge your iPhone or iPod while playing music then your car is grounded improperly and requires the addition of another product called a ground loop isolator. They have them here on Amazon but I also heard Radioshack sells them but shop here on Amazon bacause of the larger selection. But other than that it's a great product. Charges my phone really fast.Customer Review: Works great

Let me start with, it's simply a charger so there ain't a lot to rave about!
That being said, it works well. I like the look, I like how the part that attaches to the phone kind of clips in so it doesn't easily fall off, and I enjoy the fact that the cord can be taken from the section that goes into the power and disconnected so you can use the cord at work with your computer and recharge in a pinch.
The price is average for a charger.

The design of the product is quite nice. There is a lighted ring that indicates that the plug is powered. The connector fits snuggly into the iPhone.
However, it just doesn't charge consistently. I've repeatedly tried unplugging and reconnecting the base plug, the phone, the connector between the cable and the base plug. Unplugging the cable from the base plug and reconnecting it will sometimes enable charging, but it is very hit or miss.
