Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of GlobalSat BU-353 Waterproof USB GPS ReceiverCustomer Review: Works great with Linux Summary: 5 Stars
I run this on my Samsung netbook with Ubuntu Linux (10.04) using gpsd and tangogps (both in repositories). Everything works just great. Fire it up, punch in your destinations and navigate away! This little receiver gets reception in the house and in the car for me.
Customer Review: Great performance Summary: 5 Stars
Worked perfectly right out of the box. Picked up multiple satellites whether inside a building or in the car. With Map Point or other mapping software, you're good to go. Sometimes you have to manually select a COM port, but otherwise it's as simple and quick.
Customer Review: Couldn't Get Any Better Summary: 5 Stars
With the current technology that is! I like this much better than my previous receiver. Most of the dead spots with my last one, ended up coming up with this one. Not sure if the waterproof part works, although I'm sure it does because the reception is awesome!
Customer Review: Great for CarPC Summary: 5 Stars
Recently replaced GPS received with this unit for my CarPC and this is the first time I have ever seen a 12 satellite lock! It works very well with both iGuidance and Garmin Mobile PC, very fast lock and can even lock 3-4 satellites inside the garage.
Customer Review: Great product Summary: 5 Stars
I really thinks this is a great product. I use it to power my Nobletec navigation software on my boat and it works faster and better than handheld GPS's that I've paid hundreds of dollars for. The software that comes with it is also very easy to use.
