Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Giottos AA1903 Rocket Air Blaster Large (Red)Customer Review: Cleans your DLSR sensor Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the Rocket based on reviews found here and elsewhere. I needed to clean my sensor on my Nikon D70. (if you don't know if you have dust, take a close up picture of a piece of white paper. Open it in Photoshop and look at the black specks). I mounted my D70 in my tripod, aimed it straight down, removed the lens and blasted it (up) with the Rocket. I waited for dust to settle, replaced the lens, removed the camera from the tripod and repeated the "white paper" test. Result: Dust gone. I know I will find alternative uses for the rocket (keyboards, video chips, etc) but my money was more than well-spent on one use. Short story: It works.
Customer Review: It does the job well Summary: 5 Stars
There isn't a whole lot one can say about an air blower. It is made of durable materials and the rocket design stops just short of cutesy. I anticipate that it will last for years. It provides a powerful puff of air for cleaning lenses, camera bodies, and the like. The air is filtered as it enters the bulb, which contains no oil or manufacturing residue. It is too large for most camera bags but has a prominent place in my study-cum-studio.
Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Its all in the Puff Summary: 5 Stars
Red > Black
Photography widgets are always Black...often so are the insides of bags...often rapidly searched in poor lighting conditions... Red widgets are the win!
This lens blower does a great job of keeping physical contact with filter surfaces to a minimum by removing lint or dust from the filter.
The amount of Air expelled is the right amount to remove dust and pocket lint that globs on to my lens cap...then on to my filter.
Customer Review: Superior performance Summary: 5 Stars
Having suddenly one day discovered that the sensor of my Canon Rebel XT was dirty, really dirty (shooting at F22), I was at a loss as to what to do. The little blub blower with the brush at the end I'd been carrying in the camera bag for years was useless. On line research led me to the Giottos Rocket Blaster Air Blower. It produces as firm blast of air and the long neck ensures that nothing touches the sensor. So far so good ...
Customer Review: Very Impressed Summary: 5 Stars
I picked this up to clean my camera sensor and was very impressed. I didn't expect it to get everything off, and the first time I tried it, it didn't. However, I gave it another go of 5-6 puffs and now my pictures look like the camera is new. I was amazed since I figured some of the dust had been stuck on there for quite awhile and thought this would just get it good enough, but it really did take everything off for me.
