Customer Review: Took a Chance. Did not work with my laptop.

I knew the item may not work with my laptop because it clearly states in the description that your machine must have a TV out option on your video card. Since I could not determine for sure if I had that option I gave the adapter a try anyway. I have a Toshiba laptop with HDMI and VGA out. This item did not work for me but that doesn't mean it would not work as stated if you have the TV out feature.
I did fine an inexpensive unit that works very well. It allows me to watch Netflix movies from the laptop to the Older Model big screen TV that does not have HDMI in. [...]

i bought this item thinking it would work with my video card tha was already installed in my cpu but when i read the fine print i notes it said it had the name of the video card it worked with and im like i hope i have that video card installed but of course i didn't have that video card installed in my cpu because when i connected it nothing happen when i turned on my tv and i couldn't get the chance to return it with in the time they give you to return the item do to having to move and loosing my job, so people read the description carefully and make sure it works with your cpu before you purchase it.Customer Review: Piece of Junk

We tried this stupid thing on EVERY TV in our home, and we are very electronically intelligent. This piece of junk is broken, not even worth the few cents it cost to make it. And then when we were ready to return it, we realized that since we threw away the envelope it was mailed in we can't return it. I find it ridiculous that the buyer can't accept the receipt, and has to have the original yellow envelope. If you're looking for a piece of junk and to waste your money, then hopefully you'll waste it on this seller. NEVER going to buy again from this seller.Customer Review: It doesn't work.

I'm not sure why a VGA out "converter" has anything but the video out. The left/right sound jacks don't do anything, and why would they?
The monitor output on a pc sends out analog video signals...not stereo sound.
I could overlook that oddity, if the video part actually worked. I'm not really sure why I bought this, I probably thought "surely this wouldn't be sold as a product if it was just cables poorly stuffed together"
But I was wrong. It just flat out doesn't work. Looks neat though. Sure wish it did work.

OK, fully understand if I'm flagged for this review ~ as I've not yet received it! ~ However, I do think this is going to work "better" than my current setup - that is: an old compaq 3000 laptop connected to a newish 32' Samsung LCD TV connected with basic VGA cable ... sound going from audio out on laptop to a Klipsch iPod dock. Not super quality - but for you tube, Hulu, Netflix, itunes, etc... its very workable ... it sounds like all the problems people are having are with newer computers and older TV's?? Anyway, I placed the order & will update!
