This cable will not and is not supposed to connect a pc/mac/desktop/laptop to a TV.
even if you have TV out capabilities on your video card and the software to support it, this product will not work! It is not meant to link a computer to a TV.
do not buy this product if you are trying to hook up your computer to your TV. It will not work.
With out even trying it out, you can tell it will not work simply because the RCA cables have all 3 components two of which are audio! your VGA port on your computer is video only! this product is extremely misleading and is very attractive due to the price. Do not be fooled and do not waste your money!

Ok basically you need a specific video card with this. and no one that has complained about this has explained this very well at all nor did the description.
Basically your video card needs to have a white or blue video port in the back of your computer tower. for some of you that have no idea how a computer works that the big tall box that you put the CD in normally. It is in the back.
Most video cards do not have this for a obvious reason is that it is outdated and pointless almost. It is a video card you need with it so it is not going to be cheap could cost anywhere to 50 - 100$ even more. so basically make sure you have the right video card.

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see where the product specifications stated it supports audio output. VGA only supports video output, and perhaps the reviewers want that to be explicitly stated.
In order to get the whole video/audio transfer, just get this product and connect it to the VGA out on your computer. Then get a Y-cable for audio (it's about $3.00) and connect that from the headphone jack in the computer to the audio input on the TV.
Simple solution.
Works just fine.
Sounds to me that the reviewers who are upset about the audio didn't exactly know everything they should have or didn't do their research.

The product does not work. I, along with my techie friends, tried several applications. Nothing worked. The connections plug in just fine, but they do not complete a signal. Nothing! I have no idea how they continue to sell this product or the HDMI to VGA cables. The VGA to RCA portion does not even make sense. Why would a video VGA need any audio cables at all? You will have no difficulty plugging this product in; just don't expect anything to happen... except a need to pretend. I would strongly encourage Amazon to check this product out before sending it to anyone else. That should save them the expense of return shipping.Customer Review: What?

It is a simple device and I hoped it would work, I have several uses for it and did not see a single sign that the item worked at all. I used it for what it was meant for and, nothing. I hope I get an email from the Seller telling me they sent a replacement and return shipping for the dud. They can expect a 1 star if they don't return it. Infact not returning it is admitting that the item is useless and needs to be taken of the market. Think about it, this is a simple item, so it should work with something. Standard audio and video or S-video to a VGA monitor right? Well, not so, i used it for this and it simply didn't work. DOA.
