I bought this product intending to use use this to connect my xbox 360 to a computer monitor I had laying around that is in perfect working condition. Upon connecting it to my xbox and monitor and turning them both on, i found that i was getting no signal from the xbox to the monitor. I troubleshooted it many ways, including changing the display setting on my xbox and connecting a Wii to the monitor using the cable, which yielded the same result as the xbox. In theory i suppose that the cable could be intended to be used for something else, but as for me it was a waste of money and useless. If you were in my situation and trying to connect an Xbox 360 to a computer monitor, i would suggest getting an HDMI to DVI cable like I did, or buying the specific cable that Microsoft sells for that purpose (connecting a 360 to a monitor).Customer Review: Geez!

I can't believe people bought this, thinking they could use their PC/Laptop and watch things via their computer.
This is very cut and dry, this is designed to be able to plug your RCA plugs and or "S" video directly to the input of your monitor or TV that has a VGA input. Nothing more. Common sense should dictate this. Alas, there is NOT one thing wrong with this product. It is the buyers that have the problem, as they have no idea what this item is intended for. No offense to the buyers that know what they are doing.

Also, the red and white RCA inputs are for sound. Most monitors do not have speakers. So, how could this work if you plug it into a monitor that DOES NOT have speakers or sound? Duh!! Do some resaerch before you buy something. Don't go by the picture alone!!

I completely agree with the below reviews...I spent 4 hours last night trying to make this work with no success. I think the message is for those who say it does work either put up by sharing your wisdom on how to do it or shut up as all you're doing is contributing towards people wasting their money. Amazon should be providing full refunds to all those who have purchased this item with immediate effect. My next e-mails after this one will be to notify Trading Standards, to notify Amazon (as I guess they won't read this review), and if Amazon don't do anything (without me incurring any postage cost) I will contact my Credit Card company to put this payment into dispute. I suggest others do the same...don't let it go just because it's a couple of quid, that's what they're relying on! Don't forget one star means I hate it!Customer Review: FCC should penalize this as False Advertisement.

I've downloaded updated to all of my computers even bought a new video card that has TV out capabilities, My tv works with the S video cable connected directly to the computer, it doesn't work with the cable,
Unfortunately, it costs more to ship back to get a refund than the refund itself, i guess i got greedy when i saw this cable advertised at 1penny..... but you get what you paid for.
In my next review, I'll post either how long it takes for the cable to burn to a crisp or to explode.... I still haven't decided.
I'm taking votes and I'll video tape the execution.

I bought this cable to hook my PS2 up to one of my extra computer monitors. I read the reviews from several people that said that they had complaints about trying to use this cable to connect a laptop to a tv. Other reviews point out that this cable is intended for connecting video devices to a monitor (as described in the product description), not a computer to a tv. I've tried it on three LCD flat panels monitors with several video devices including a karaoke disc player and several video game consoles and...nothing. The screens don't even detect the presence of the cable. I verified that all of the monitors I connected the cable to detected standard vga cables so I know that the screens are working. DO NOT BUY! THIS PRODUCT DOESN'T WORK!
