I purchased one of these simply because I tired of my friends with Ipods, Ipads, and Iphones always coming over my house with dying devices and complaining. My friends absolutely love it. It has 3 components there is a car charger connected to the main charger via retractable usb cord, AC charger also connected via usb cord, and finally the retractable usb cord. This is the only part of the accessory I do not give 5 stars and it is only because the cable is short and it has a thin feel to it that I worry about snapping when I do extend the cable. But for the like 2 bucks I paid for this definitely can't beat it. I use this charger while travelling as it is light and compact. It allows me to charge it from my vehicles or from a wall outlet when I am away from home. I am using this charger on an Apple iPod 5th generation Nano. I have not had any issues with compatability. I will mention that I do not use it heavily as I typically charge my Nano from a dock on my external speakers. I have seen other reviews mentioning that the prongs pull out of the AC adapter and the 12v plug comes apart. I have not experienced any of these problems and feel that I have gotten a great value for what little I paid. I'm not sure why some people have given this item such a low rating. Both my sister-in-law and I own this product and have had no problems with springs popping out or our iPods not charging. She owns an iPod Nano and I have a 2nd Gen iPod Touch.
The ONLY reason I don't give it five stars is because certain functions of my iPod go a little crazy when it's plugged in, like I'll click in one place, but it interprets me having clicked somewhere else. But, there's a simple solution to this minor problem, I just don't use it when it's charging. I haven't done any troubleshooting to determine if this problem is isolated to the chord or the wall adapter.
All in all, very good value.

I have used both the car charger and the AC charger and both have performed very well (I don't use the retractable cord). I charge a 4G itouch as well as a 4G Sansa clip mp3 player with these devices and they have proven to charge adequately and much more quickly than it takes to charge these items on the computer. I bought two packages, one for myself and one for a friend and her set is working just as well as mine (she uses hers exclusively to charge a Sansa Clip mp3 player). It seems by way of other reviews that the product isn't consistent with respect to quality control so it may be the luck of the draw if you get a good package or not but for the price even buying two is still reasonable.Customer Review: Works great on my new 64GB iTouch 4Gen iOS 4.1

Tested with iTunes, some 3rd party desktop applications, and charging with the 110V adapter. (Haven't tested the 12V car charger)
The product does what it advertises at a fantastic price.
A full charge takes about 1 hour with 110V charger (from 15% battery life remaining).
I love the retractable cord especially when using the Pod on my desk. The old apple USB cable was too long and got hung-up in my paperwork.
Suggest being gentle with the retractable spring. I've seen those retractable gadgets break if not used properly.
This items is one of the best values on sale for iPod, iTouch, iPhone accessories that works as it advertises.
