Customer Review: Not a bad purchase
Summary: 4 Stars

If you want this specifically for the retractable USB cable, don't bother. I received it in, pretty much, a bag of a USPS package. Within was a small zip lock bag containing the product. the housing for the retractable cable was already apart and I wasn't able to get it back together correctly. Fortunately, I don't really care about that part of it, as the cable itself could be removed and works just fine.

Outside of that, works as intended. Decent locking connection, which even the original cable that came with my iPod Touch(2nd Gen) was lacking. I only purchased this for the wall unit charger to take on a train with me, the car charger was a big plus since this only came to about $0.50 USD more than a wall unit alone in most cases.

I'm not going to give this praise of perfection, but it certainly feels it should stand up to day to day use and travel as long as you're not flinging it across the room.

The only thing i'd say is to be careful with the car charger. It's a very common design among vehicle USB kits and I've seen the housing split in half down it's two sections from pressure of a USB cable. Not a hard fix for most, but it can be quite annoying. Again, general speech, hasn't happened with this specific one yet. Though, if it does, and you're not OCD over aesthetics, wrapping some tape around it near the USB end to give a little support might not be a bad idea.

Well, everything worked(except for the retractable cable housing, cable itself is fine though) as it should. No real complaints. For the price, it's a great buy.

Customer Review: It's "Inspire" not "Lux", but don't expect to be inspired by the quality
Summary: 2 Stars

The product I received is branded "Inspire". The actual products are uglier than the pictured "Lux" products on amazon.

On the "InspireTech" website the product description of the home adapter reads that it has a smart chip to prevent overcharging and that it works "with all USB devices chargeable through USB". I noticed that one of the pictures on that site shows the home adapter's informational sticker. It's sticker does NOT state anything about compatibility like mine which reads: "Compatible with ipod shuffle ipod mini, ipod photo, and ipod with click wheel" (I didn't miss a comma). Not so "Universal" I guess. It seems to charge my 2nd gen nano, but I'm not even going to try the touch. I also heard a very slight whirring noise coming from the adapter when plugged in. The casing protrudes about 2 inches from the wall.

The car adapter is actually not any uglier than other car adapters I've seen, but it sure feels cheaper. It does not charge my 2nd gen ipod Nano. When I plug it in the nano initially displays the charging battery image but then returns to the normal battery image about a second later. I tried this a number of times and left it plugged in for 5 minutes. No dice.

The USB cord is about 26 inches long. There is a distinct abrasiveness to plugging this cord into the adapters or my ipod, unlike the smooth feel of the apple USB cord that comes with ipods.

All in all, about what you should expect for the price. I'm going to Apple for a better charger. No, it's not worth the cost to return it.

Well, after looking several places for an IPOD NANO 3rd Gen charger and USB cable... I checked out Amazon.

I came upon this lil package for under $.40. I didnt think it would get here in working condition, or have all the pieces. Well, after spending less than $4.00 on shipping and the package... I get it about 3-4 days after I order it and wouldnt you know it, every single part works, all parts are there, and now Im jamming with my IPOD.

I cant even begin to think about how much companies like this piss off Apple for doing their jobs at a cost thats a bit more realistic and affordabble.

Shipping was fairly priced, shipping time was great, product was great, seller was great.

So, all in all, if you need an IPOD charger and USB cable, dont play games and spend $20-50 for this stuff, come here and spend under $4.

Customer Review: An OK car charger
Summary: 3 Stars

For the record, I have a 2nd generation iPod Nano.

The charger works for me, so that's good enough. The cord is a decent length for use in the car and the retractable feature makes it a space-saver. Although the retractable cord works fine, it feels kind of flimsy so I'm not sure how long it will last.

One problem I had with the charger was the size of the plug that goes into the iPod. The release buttons on the sides stick out too much and it kind of gets in the way of the headphone jack. If your headphone/auxiliary plug is too wide, it might press up against the charger to the point that the charger might not plug in all the way or to the point that you feel like you're forcing both plugs in too much. What would make it worse is if you have a hard plastic casing for your iPod. My friend had to remove the plastic casing of his iPod just so he could use the charger and an auxiliary cable for the car at the same time because the casing got in the way of the charger (which was slightly being pushed to the side by the auxiliary cable anyway).

So if you're a lil' lazy and don't feel like removing the protective casing for your iPod, you might end up having to listen to your iPod without charging or vice-versa.

Customer Review: Don't buy -- damaged my ipod Nano 5G
Summary: 1 Stars

Do not buy this product! I wanted to give it zero stars but Amazon rating system doesn't allow it.

After reading the reviews and happy not to spend the Apple prices, I purchased this set last week. I was particularly interested in the travel/wall charger so I wouldn't have to charge my two-week-old Nano from my computer every time. When it arrived, I plugged it in and it seemed to work, and left it to charge overnight.

Imagine my horror the next morning when I returned to find a big, irregularly-shaped mark across my screen (inside) that looked like a burn. It made the screen dark on the bottom so you couldn't read the writing at all, didn't even try to watch any video. I assumed my basically new Nano was ruined after one use with this charger, and I was not happy about it, left it off for a couple of days until I could get to the Apple store to see if they would help me.

When I turned it back on two days later, the mark on the screen was gone, not sure why. It hasn't reappeared. But I'm not risking using the set again and having permanent screen damage, so I'm returning it and ponying up for a real Apple charger set. Beware!
