I included this part of a purchase with a 12v air compressor. The item was "recommended" based on the number of consumers who included it in purchase of the compressor and not on reviews (yes, I neglected to read product reviews since I thought such a simple item would be a no brainer). The compressor works fine off of the car's battery, but when attached to a home outlet with the adaptor, nothing happens - no power. I took it apart to see if there were any disconnected wires or obviously flawed components. Nothing jumped out at me as being wrong. It would appear to just another cheap crappy product on Amazon. Amazon really should pull products off their site which get a three star or less cumulative review from customer. It would help minimize consumer headaches.Customer Review: Save your money

Yes, it was cheap, and it didn't work the very first time I tried it. The company went ahead and sent me a second one and didn't charge for shipping. The second one worked the first time I took it out of town, but the second time (2 months later) all it did was flash once in a while. HDE was not so friendly this time. Said my 30 day was expired. I offered to apply the money to buy a better item, they don't carry any others. I'm not sure these items should be sold -- for any reason at any price! (I guess it's cheap enough, maybe I should just buy a dozen at a time?)Customer Review: Very handy!

So many devices either come with AC but no DC and others come with DC but no AC power adapters. The result is needing to purchase an overly priced power adapter especially for your device. This little gizmo solves 1/2 the problem - when you have the DC power adapter but no AC power adapter (like my son's GPS). He simply uses the DC power adapter that came with the GPS and plugs it into this handy little adapter for a charge up. once i plugged it in it started hissing and getting hot. being the DIY kinda guy i am, i decided to open it up and see if i could figure it out myself. the male end that plugs into the wall FELL OUT! it was not connected and was arcing and burning the plastic! this thing is a fire hazard, i cant believe someone would make such a product.... their website is a joke too, good luck getting help or a real person on the phone. keep looking, this aint the one for you.
