Customer Review: A Cheap Solution to Turn Your PC into a Bluetooth Device
Summary: 4 Stars

This incredibly priced gadget works with my HP PC with XP in tandem with my LG CU720 cellphone and Macbook. Making it work is not very intuitive, but it is not that difficult neither. You have to click on the Bluetooth icon on you tray and play with the menus. Make sure you "Turn discovery on" the first time so that your other Bluetooth devices can see it. Also, check on "allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer". You may want to enter an 8 digit passkey when it asks you as I was not able to connect to my devices without creating one.

I did transferred 100Mb video from Macbook to PC in about 8 minutes. Pictures from my cell to PC.

This dongle is incredibly small; half the size of the nail of your middle finger. No CD included with the package, but it worked as a plug and play. I have to be gentle for fear of damaging the device as it attaches a bit too tight on my USB port. It even works on a USB hub.

Customer Review: Total gamble - completely unreliable
Summary: 1 Stars

Do not waste your money on this product. It's not worth the cost savings. I purchased two of these. One from Amazon and one from another online dealer. Neither came with any type of software or drivers. One came with not even packaging. My system is Win7 Ultimate 64 bit, and I needed this to pair with my Logitech Media Pro PS3 keyboard. On both that I bought, the product did not install properly with the default Windows drivers. The "brand" that Windows detected is "CSR". Since it came with no software, I tried searching online. Eventually I installed the Soleil Blue software. Again, it did not install properly and could not pair with my keyboard. Total time wasted = 2 weeks

Do not waste your money on this product. Buy a more reputable brand that comes with drivers and has at least a 4-star review. Better yet, search the reviews for whatever you're trying to pair with and see if others has had any problems.

Customer Review: It works great! When it wants to
Summary: 4 Stars

A little disclaimer, before I criticize the little Bluetooth. The dongle itself is great. I use it solely for my mouse and it never wavers in connection. Also, it was a bonus to find such a small one and a steal to find it at around $5.00.

So here's the only problem I had with it:
The driver that comes on the CD (Bluesoleil) is user friendly with a good GUI and intuitive way of connecting devices. However, it frequently refuses to turn the dongle on, even when it recognizes that it's attached. This is a problem when I use it for my mouse connection. I've been using my old mouse as a precaution, which is counter-intuitive. Also, it doesn't have an automatic start feature, so I have to turn it on manually to use the mouse with the keyboard.

To make things short, this probably isn't a Plug & Play device. I'm still searching for better drivers, but it's a good product in and of itself.

Customer Review: You get what you pay for...

I know you're tempted by a bargain (I was!), but put the money towards a better adapter.

This might work for some, but on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine, the default drivers from Windows Update don't work (can't get through the pairing process). The version of BlueSoleil shipped with the product is obsolete and also doesn't work. BlueSoleil does have a nice working version on their website, but to get a full version without the shady data transfer limit, you'll need to shell out another $20 or so, at which point it's no longer worth it. Lastly either the dongle is NOT based on a Broadcom chipset, or Broadcom didn't write any 64-bit drivers, but their Bluetooth setup utility cannot detect the device either.

I feel like maybe if I keep digging around the web I'll eventually figure it out, but at this point I'm ready to throw in the towel. At least it's only a couple bucks down the drain.

Customer Review: Why pay more?
Summary: 4 Stars

I've purchaed 3 of these now. 2 were for use at my office to connect older laptops to some bluetooth keyboards (different models) and 1 was for my home desktop (Skype, etc). All have installed instantly, were immediately recognized by Windows, and have been trouble-free. I don't know what more you could ask for, especially since they each cost less that $2.00. I was a bit leary at first since they're so cheap and other USB dongles (love that word) are $15-20.00...but I haven't experienced any problems. Maybe there are some compatibility or range issues with some headsets (I'm using the JABRA BLUETOOTH BT-135) or keyboards (I've got a Logitech PlayStation 3 Cordless MediaBoard Pro, but I can't speak to them.
