This webcam is not terribly reliable. I transported it in my bag a few weeks after receiving it, and then it flatly refused to work. I'm somewhat technically inclined, and searched the web for drivers or anything to help my computer (XP) recognize it, and then I finally chalked it up to a hardware issue. The webcam is not sturdy nor particularly solid.
On the other hand, my friend who also has the exact same webcam hasn't had this problem. Then again, it just sits on his desk.
So, if you want a cheap way to webcam, this would indeed be your solution. Just be extremely extremely gentle with it if you want it to keep working.

I had recently bought myself a logitech webcam from walmart for about 12 bucks. the logitech camera worked fine and also came with a stand to attatch to my lap top. being that i will be leaving for college i decided to buy my parents and best friend a webcam as well. This webcam works better than my logitech web cam the lights makes it a serious plus. the installation was 1-2-3 and it worked very well with both skype and ovoo. Although it did not have a attachable stand to place on top of a lap top for the price it worked very well and i would reccomend this cam to anyone. please anyone take advantage of this offer for communication purposes why notCustomer Review: worth the Hype for Skype....

I got this little camera for myself this summer and have since ordered another for my grandkids, it works wonderful. It has a light if needed to view if room is a bit darker then usual... you can turn the dial around the viewer to focus perfectly. I was hesitant to buy this figuring it was so cheap that it probably wouldn't work, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the quality picture it delivers. also it's easy to pick up and turn in any direction to direct your picture elsewhere, rather then picking up your whole computer to scan a room. I love it, I don't know how long it will last, but so far so good. great value for a great price.Customer Review: Better than some $100 cams out there!

This webcam is just about the greatest bargan I have ever stumbled across.
It is totally plug and play, and comes totally unfettered by unnessicary software. Works well with built in Windows XP software. for those confused by the button on top of the camera, that is the shutter for still photos. (And yes, it takes great stills)
The xtra bonus is the four adjustable LED lights. Nice to have if your room suffers from poor lighting. Overall construction very durable, and the swivel mount and suction base are a big plus.
All and all, a great little item. Grab yours before the price goes up... way up.

Took it out of the package and plugged it in. Found a program I already owned that could use it and tried it out. WOW!! Nothing and I mean NOTHING was in focus. There is no position where this thing focuses. I've had it close enough to objects that it blocks out the light and pointed it out the window to see if I'm just too close. Nothing makes a difference. In all fairness I only paid $7.95 and that included shipping, but I expected to at least be able to recognize what I was looking at. I didn't contact the seller and don't intend to as by the time things were exchanged and the shipping settled out I'm sure I can buy a better one.
