I have just recently obtained this webcam on 12-05-2009 and even though i'm not an expert with webcams (this being my first) I must say that I am impressed with this webcam. It was very easy to install all I had to do was plug it into my usb port and automatically my windows vista found and installed the proper drivers.I will be honest and tell you that I haven't actually had the opportunity to use the webcam as of yet , but just setting it up on a few programs that I use , that I am completely satisfied with this webcam !
Its a good value for its price,very easy to set up and operate,small and compact,takes up vey little room on your desk and works with a laptop. I would recommend this webcam to anyone and everyone who is looking for an inexpensive webcam without going broke .

This webcam is for a desktop not laptop. It does not have a microphone as some reviewers have stated. The image quality if wonderful. You will get a very clear SVGA image much better than any laptop's built in webcam. When you connect it for the first time in Windows 7 (mine is 64bit ultimate) the webcam is detected without any problem by showing the driver is installed on the lower right corner of your desktop. However, if you start Skype for the first time it does not find it and shows a dark rectangle. Start MSN messenger >click on tools >Audio and video setup and then setup your video device. You are done! Now this webcam works with all other programs. During recording, each second takes 1 meg of your hard drive. Is this resolution 0.3 Megapixel? I think NOT!Customer Review: Great Webcam!

This webcam worked right out of the box on my Windows Vista laptop! I used it within minutes. I actually used it to talk with a friend in Europe on skype. It worked well and there was no video lag or anything like that. The focus is controlled by moving the little round bezel over the lens.
The LED lights are pretty bright. They're controlled by a little switch attached to the cord.
Overall, for the price, this webcam is a good piece of equipment and I recommend buying this if you need a good priced webcam or even a spare.
The video review about this webcam is a very good review. I suggest watching the video review of this webcam if you're considering buying it. It's a nice piece of equipment that does its job.

I plugged this in to my Wins-7 notebook. It recognized it as a camera and loaded the Windows Drivers. I used the Debut software to actually see if it was working. A low-quality image did appear, with significant blur when movement took place. The led lights never came on.
A few minutes later it had stopped working. I disconnected it, rebooted, but nothing I tried could get the notebook to recognize the device ever again.
I took it to my XP desktop PC and plugged it in. XP was at least nice enough to inform me of a "bad USB device" -- which I promptly tossed in the garbage.
So, I threw away $7, and will now look at spending around 30-40 for something decent. I think that you're taking a gamble with this one.

I received my camera in the mail, I plugged it in and after a minute or two of messin with it, I got it to work just fine with my gmail video chat. I did not have to download any drivers or anything like that.. I have a very standard Dell laptop, about two years old. I have Windows XP. But all I basically use this camera for is gmail video chat with a few friends and My family in other states. It works great for that, and for $13 it was the perfect find for me. I just plugged it in and was ready to go 2 minutes later. So, I'm one of the lucky ones and it works great for me and the video quality is pretty close to being as good as the built in Web Cam on my brothers iMac. no complaints from me so far.. I'm happy with it.
