Customer Review: Awful shipping idiocy: Signature required on delivery for $8 cable

This pertains to shipping. On Amazon, you can't separate the product from the shipper sometimes. Whomever is shipping this does not understand the concept of convenience, or why people buy common items online.
I bought this online to cost myself one less errand, to avoid a 2 mile, 20 minute trip to Lowes or Radio Shack, because I had a lot to do and wanted to get this purchase my plate. The seller attempted to give me that errand back by requiring a SIGNATURE for a UPS delivery on an measly $8 cable. So now, having missed two delivery attempts, I must now drive FIVE miles to the UPS hub to pick this package up. So the seller can protect themselves from an $8 loss.
The point of purchasing common items online is convenience. Don't inconvenience your customers with petty signature requirements.
UPDATE: THE SELLER WAS AT LEAST NICE ENOUGH TO GIVE ME A REFUND, SO I WILL UPGRADE THIS TO TWO STARS.
