Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin eTrex Carrying CaseCustomer Review: Fantastic accessory Summary: 5 Stars
I have tried 5-6 different GPS models over the years, and the Garmin Etrex series is the most impressive. They are simple, rugged, and deadly accurate.
I personally do not like a lanyard, so I started to look for a case for my Etrex basic that allowed me to comfortably carry it on my belt.
This case not only gives me the additional belt clip that I was looking for, but it also gives you even greater protection for your GPS.
This is a fantastic product and well worth the price.
Customer Review: Nice for a little added protection... Summary: 5 Stars
The Garmin Carry Case is a nice addition to the eTrex GPS. The case is well made and covers most of the unit with its protective material. The buttons on both sides of the GPS are exposed and easy to access and the click stick is also exposed and easy to access (contrary to another reviewer's comments). There is a belt clip and metal loop on the back to help fasten the unit however you want. Overall, if you're like me and prefer to keep your toys clean and unscratched, the Garmin Carry Case is for you.
Customer Review: Useful for protecting your GPS, but not that great Summary: 3 Stars
This carrying case is great for protecting your GPS receiver (a Vista HCx in my case) from scratches, especially on the screen, but it does have a problem that the plastic covering the screen is very reflective, so I usually end up removing the carrying case under bright sunlight to be able to read the screen. I think this is a good product, but having the need to remove it sometimes defeats its purpose. Better go to a store and see it for yourself to see if its going to be a problem for you.
Customer Review: Nice but not exactly necessary for the average user Summary: 4 Stars
I own one of these and use it for Geocaching, but the Garmin gps is pretty solid and tough on its own. Unless you're going to be exposing your GPS to the elements on a regular basis, I don't think this is that necessary. The belt clip is worthless because you're either holding onto it or it's in your pocket or pack. If you're just getting this because you bought a GPS for taking your kids geocaching (which I did), then you should save 10 bucks and invest the money into rechargable batteries.
Customer Review: Great! Summary: 5 Stars
Although Garmin's eTrex line appears to be nearly indestructible, this case provides that extra measure of confidence when packing your GPS into the wild. It is obviously very well assembled and complements any eTrex unit nicely. The best feature is the protective screen that prevents the actual screen from scratches and marks. To me, this case is really the only option for the eTrex series, since you have full access to all of the unit's functions without removing it from the case.
