Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin GSC 10 Speed/Cadence Bike SensorCustomer Review: Paired with Forerunner 305. Summary: 4 Stars
I have this paired with a Forerunner 305 and it had no problems communicating with the device. Mounting wasn't difficult but the sensor could probably be a little better. I've got the sensor body leaning away from the wheel with the speed sensor arm adjusted towards the wheel. As with another review I read, I had to add a spacer for the magnet on the crank for the cadence. Both the speed and cadence magnet had to come pretty close to the sensor to get picked up.
I've been using this on a Kurt Kinetic trainer and it's great to be able to monitor speed, distance, HR and cadence. This is mounted on a 2009 Quintano Roo Tequilo and I plan on picking up another GSC 10 for my road bike.
Customer Review: Does the job, but not very durable. Summary: 4 Stars
I got one of these with my Garmin Edge 305 Cycling GPS system and mounted it on my road bike. It works very well and seems quite accurate. This second one is for a stationary bike I have.
My only problem is that the first one I got has cracked on the speed sensor arm where the screw is that holds it to the main unit. So far it is holding in place, but it won't take much to break it loose. No speed sensor would only be a problem on a stationary bike since the GPS can calculate speed on a moving bike. Cadence is what I really wanted this for to begin with.
Since the speed arm seems fragile, I don't think I would recommend using this on serious mountain bike rides.
Customer Review: Very nice addition to the 305 Summary: 4 Stars
I am a newbie to electronic fitness products. I am old school when it came to working out. I got the Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver With Heart Rate Monitor to keep track of my after work jogs and since I had a bike I decided to get the cadence sensor as well. They work very well together (Pair easy). It mounts to your bike with cable ties so it's very easy to install, it transmits to the 305 wirelessly. The only problem was that the magnet that goes on the peddle crank did not come close enough to the sensor to register. So I had to place a spacer between the magnet and crank to get it closer. Other than that it works great for me. The price was high also.

Customer Review: A must have for you Edge 305 Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the Edge 305 w/o the cadence sensor thinking I don't need it but I was wrong. Once you realize what the Edge can give you for information and you start to plot everything ( I use SportTracks )you became addicted and you want cadence chart too !!!
Furthermore, the sensor allows you to get speed even when there's no GPS signal ( tunnel, cities, etc). A fact that overlooked.
Easy to install and the red/green light tells you if the unit senses the magnets which have to run pretty close to the unit. I would suggest you test the unit on your bike in a rather dark area to make it easier to look at the ligth on the unit.
Customer Review: Great Training Aid Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this to track my bike use, like my gym and running use, so I wouldn't miss any training information. This is great, I get my miles, mph, stroke cadence, etc. plus with my hrm I get my calories. My only problem was with installing the pedal sensor. The inside/back of my pedal arm is slightly hollowed out and rounded so there wasn't a flat surface to mount the sensor against. I used some putty to fill in the void behind it along with the supplied zip-tie and so far so good. Other than that modification it is a great training aid that works as advertised. I am looking forward to years of reliable use. BTW, I use this with the FR60, seamless partnering!
