Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin Forerunner Quick Release KitCustomer Review: Great addition for the 305! Summary: 5 Stars
I have had this product for about a month now and use it for training as well as a triathlon and a couple of running events. It is real nice and the watch mounts to the wrist strap and the bike easily and securely.
PROS:
- It is more comfortable than the band that ships with the 305
- The watch can be removed and added to the bike mount in seconds.
CONS:
- I can not slip the band around my hand with the strap in the buckle, so I have to feed it through which takes a few seconds. Triathletes may want to have it on prior to the race to avoid the few seconds it takes to put it on.
Customer Review: Great for biking and running Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the 305 primarily for running, but use it for biking too. I bought two bike attachments so I can pop it onto either of my bikes easily. The wrist strap that comes with the bike attachment is more comfortable than the standard wrist strap. I did not buy the cadence attachment for the bike. The GPS gives bike speed in mph without it and I don't really care about my cadence. The 305 can be read quite easily while biking when it is on the bike attachment, even when the screen is split into four sections. I definitely recommend the bike attachment. It is better than having the device on your wrist while biking.
Customer Review: Good, not great Summary: 3 Stars
If you have a Forerunner 305 unit, and use it for both running and biking, this is almost a necessary accessory. Switching the band on and off the unit was a hassle, and this eliminates that, which is why I bought it. It does have some shortcomings: one, I think it's a bit overpriced for what it is, two, the wristband is far too short. I think the problem really is that the material used on the end of the band is basically solid/too stiff for the last 1.5 inches. Most fast-wrap bands I have on other watches are flexible except for the last .25 inch or so, giving them much more range for fit.
Customer Review: Great accessory for the Garmin. Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great product, I have a small wrist and I have found this band to be much more comfortable than the big plastic one; but what I really like is the bike mount. Now I do not have to wear it on my wrist at all while riding, and all the info is right in front of me.
It was extremely easy to put on, they give you all the tools you need with it.
I have not used the setup while doing a triathlon yet, not sure if I will use the bike mount or just leave it on my wrist the entire time, either way it will be faster than trying to put the plastic band on.
Customer Review: Good Product Summary: 4 Stars
I like the quick release. The design works well. Any product can be improved hence the 4 starts. I don't like to wear a watch so I usually wrap/hold the band around my left hand as I run. A more comfortable band would be an improvement. Zip-Ties are a simple and easy solution to mount the base but my set up tends to rotate around my road bike handle bars a little. A possible annoyance, but ok so far. Maybe a quick release that has more control over tightening for the mount so you can switch between bikes. I would recommend the quick release kit to anyone who asks.
