I had been wearing my Garmin Forerunner 305 on my wrist during cycling outings and it was sometimes hazardous for me to check the data while in motion. This bike mount is the perfect answer! It mounts on the handlebars where your eyes can easily see the info on the Forerunner display without having to ride one-handed. Much safer. The mount itself is plastic, but the Garmin 'head' snaps in securely and is easy enough to remove. The Velcro wrist strap that comes with this kit replaces the Forerunner's original plastic wrist strap and is much easier to adjust. Setting up the bike mount was easy. The instructions were clear and everything I needed was included in the kit. A fantastic product, easy to install, watch snaps in and out of the mount with a little effort. Makes it easy to transfer your Gramin from bike to bike. All great.
Except... when you look down to check your Garmin and IT ISN'T THERE!
I had one issue with it popping out during a cyclocross race, but it was after a jump and I couldn't really fault it for that. On my last road ride, looked down during a hill sprint and it was just gone.
My impression is that it bailed a little earlier when I hit a pothole.
When all is said and done, this mount should be able to withstand a bump without the computer committing suicide.
Don't buy if you want to keep your watch.

This accessory does what it's supposed to, that is, allow you to quickly remove your Garmin Forerunner from your bike / wrist and put it on the other (Note I've only used it for the Garmin 305). The included wrist strap is comfortable, and I've had no problems running with it. I was a little worried at first that the Garmin could become dislodged from the plastic housing, but it's a very firm fit. The mount for the bike is a little flimsy and is only held on with zip ties. There's nothing from preventing it from rotating on the handlebar mount, so if you hit a bump you have to adjust it occasionally. This has been my only real complaint, and is the only thing keeping this product from getting 5 stars.Customer Review: like it

I bought this when my plastic strap broke off my garmin. I was very happy to find that this product was available, as it was right before a race, and I really didn't want to have to purchase a new watch. I really liked this product. I like the velcro strap more than the original plastic one (though it is a bit too long for my wrist) it is much easier to take off, and put back on. It did take me a little while to figure out to put it all together; directions would have been nice, but I figured it out eventually. You do have to get used to taking the watch off the base to charge it, but it is pretty simple and not a big deal. This worked really well for me. I love my Garmin 305. Works great. I bought this kit b/c I run and mountain bike a lot and this kit makes transitions easy between wrist and bike.
Worked so good that I decided to strap it on to my wrist while I was at the motocross track. Not a good idea. One lap and it had popped out of the quick release wrist strap. Same thing with bike mount kit.
So, the lesson is it works great if you aren't going to be in a situation where it is really going to get thrown around a lot. I would not trust this kit for my mountain bike in extreme situations where it is going to get rough (i.e. think Porcupine Rim Trail out at Moab). Other than that it works great!
