I am enjoying my Garmin Forerunner 50. I found it easy to install. One issue came up with the foot pod, but I quickly realized that the battery needed to be replaced. I installed on my laptop so that I can travel and still upload my workouts as well as not having to be on-line to see my workouts. I think that the data that it tracks for me is excellent and fits my purpose in keeping records of my mileage, average pace and speed, and heart rate data. I found the graphs interesting and worth reviewing to design my workouts.Customer Review: Disappointing costumer service, and product!

I bought this product about 5 months ago, the batteries just lasted 4 months when it spouse to last for 12, I call Garmin International and they ask me to send it, which I did, 2 weeks after, I received a refurbished watch that didn't work either, I call them again and they told me to send it again (I paid shipping twice), 2 week later I got another watch that did NOT work, it was the third one...
2 months later I finally got a new Forerunner. Please don't get in trouble, don't buy this product!

I've had for one week, and I'm thrilled!! I just wanted distance, pace, and heart rate, and it gives me all of these, plus more! Also, when I get home from my run, it makes nice fancy graphs and records all of my information while I recover!! Its my own little robot :) This price is a STEAL compared to any other vendor. I chose this over a Nike + Sportsband, and the two don't truly compare. Its easy enough for a first time runner, but good enough for one who plans to run for a long, long time!!Customer Review: Great product and great Garmin customer service!

I bought this Garmin Forerunner 50 set that comes with a foot pod and a heart rate monitor.
Few months ago, the USB driver wasn't retrieving the data from the watch, so I contacted the Garmin customer support. I received a prompt reply and my problem was resolved.
I like Forerunner 50 best because it is much lighter than other Garmin Forerunner watches that come with a GPS. Moreover, you can track your runs for free on [...], so there is no need for a GPS device.

I own a wonderful Garmin 305, which is gret but huge, and needs lots of recharging. Worth it, though. I saw the Best Buy ad for this and then on Amazon, and would have purchased it but>>>
it is marketed by Garmin but is NOT a GPS unit. More a fancy pod-controled pedometer. Be aware before you purchase. Still a good price for what it is, with heart monitor and pod, compared to other vendors, but not what I expected (or you might expect).
