Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin Forerunner 50 Water Resistant Running GPS With Heart Rate Monitor and Foot PodCustomer Review: The ant is not reliable Summary: 2 Stars
I have had the Garmin Forerunner 50 for 4 weeks now and have run with it 4-5x per week. The basic tools are very useful - speed, distance, etc. But my ant stick is very tempermental. One day it works, one day it doesn't. Now it won't show up at all on my computer and the product manual and website are not helpful. I have tried the basics to fix it but don't know what else I can do. So I called Garmin. Their automated message told me that it was a 30-35 minute wait time for help. It should be just a quick install and never have to worry about it again.
Customer Review: GPS-experienced...Glad I switched! Summary: 5 Stars
I have used Garmin GPS products for years, but I needed something that works inside and I am moving to a part of the world that will not support mapping, so GPS capability is really not important for me. I looked at the Polar RS800SD and loved it, but the price was just too high. With the Garmin Forerunner 50 I get exactly what I need without features I really don't. I like the user-replaceable batteries--very convenient for me (I am on the road a lot) and I am happy with the software package. This is definitely a quality piece of gear!
Customer Review: When I would only know before Summary: 2 Stars
Hello,
I bought this item with the highest hopes. It was very disappointing that the strip (the one you put around your chest) is not always contacting the skin, and therefore you will not have a steady recording. I tried so many things to keep the stripe really on my skin, but like I said it is not constantly. (I used the stripe for cycling, running and swimming).
Fazit is that when I would known this fact before I would bought something else, ...something what you can wrap around the arm.
So long
Customer Review: Training for 10K Summary: 5 Stars
I'm using this watch to help me train for a 10k and for the past month it has worked great. After reading the directions i was out the door in about 10min's so it's easy to use.
Only problem i have had so far, the heartrate monitor dosen't fit me... and i'm not so little that i shouldn't be able to adjust it to my size. If your a girl i would try to hunt down one of those sports bra's that holds the heartrate monitor in place. Otherwise, this is an excellent buy, worth every penny and easy to track my running hisotry.
Customer Review: Runner's Friend Summary: 4 Stars
I really enjoy my Garmin Forerunner 50. The best feature is the automatic upload of my run to my compter. The downside is the training center software. It does not have a print function. Also, I have had problems up-loading the information to my motion based account. Overall, it is the best non-GPS device I have own. It is better than my Nike Triax CV10 because of the USB ANT Stick.
If the Forerunner 405 is this easy, I am playing on purchasing it down the road. Great product and surely this runner's friend!
