Customer Review: Finally a good fitness watch for petite women!

I just received my FR60, and my first impression is that I love this product. I've had to wait for it for five months because it was not on the market as yet; however, on the up side this provided me with a substantial discount, so I have no complaint in this regard. I have had much difficulty finding a good fitness watch that would fit my small wrist. The FR60 fits nicely without being bulky. Compared to my Mio Petite, the heart rate display is much easier to retrieve and most reliable, characters displayed are easier to read, and buttons are more ergonomic. The main difference is that Mio Petite had no chest strap, and the dual pressure button system was quite awkward and unreliable. The lavender color on the FR60 is nice and discrete -- thanks, however, for not making it a hot pink or orange! On the down side, the product is so new that it is not yet supported by the Web site. This deadline is a big failure on the part of Garmin!!! Then tech support is only open at certain hours during the week, and there are no Q&As for FR60 as yet on the Web site. Once I manage to have access to my data online, I intend to order the foot pod, which should be a natural add-on to this product. Despite my initial frustrations, I expect to really enjoy this watch and I highly recommend it to any active woman with petite wrists.Customer Review: Better luck second time around

I received this watch for Christmas and was enthusiastic about the prospect of tracking and improving my fitness performance. I had a bit of difficulty deciphering how to operate the watch based on the user manual. It definitely needs some work. However, the Garmin website provided detailed videos on the watch features and how to program. VERY helpful! I am still unsure if there is a way to adjust for elevation while on the treadmill... The mode button was not easy to use from the beginning and then on January 28th, the watch quit working altogether. I called Garmin and their suggestion was to send the watch in and they would send me a "refurbished" watch to replace it. This is unacceptable for a watch as new and costly as this one was. Finally, I contacted the store--Clever Trainer--from where the watch shipped and they immediately agreed to replace it with a new one. I did have to pay to ship it to them, but am happy to find myself with a new watch instead of a refurbished one. So far, so good!Customer Review: Perfect for Runners in training

I love my Garmin FR60. Be sure to get the one with the foot pod. Mine also came with a heart rate monitor. I checked a bunch of reviews for similar products -- the Nike iPod tracker wasn't the best for runners because it doesn't seem to calculate distance well. One guy said that it calculated he ran a 21-minute mile which wasn't true. Anyway, I love my Garmin! It worked perfect straight out of the box and when I just ran a 3.5 race, my watch matched the mile markers exactly! Also it comes with a wireless USB that you can connect to your computer to download your watch's info. So now I have all my times and days I ran recorded. Even a breakdown of my time of each mile.
I'm training for my first half marathon and this watch is the perfect way to track my distance and times.

I absolutely love this gadget. I debated between this and the Forerunner and very pleased with the FR60. I decided that I didn't want the GPS plus I felt like the Forerunner would look huge on me as I am pretty small. This just looks like a large watch. The menus can be confusing but once you go through the manual (which I've had to do a couple times) it's pretty easy to use. Like others, I wish there was an easier way to toggle back and forth between activities but that is my only complaint. I love that I can walk in the door after a run and it's already transferring data to my computer. I have had it for around 6 months or so. FYI - Many of the photos of the black women's watch are actually of the men's model. The women's model I purchased 11/2010 is a plainer design (no asymmetrical grey area-just plain black with plain silver bezel) and, more importantly, the labels around the face ("light", "mode", "start/stop", "lap", "up" and "down") are not printed like they are on the men's. They are just indentations that are much harder to read. You really have to memorize which button is which to operate it while running (or biking or swimming). The photo currently shown under "Product Description" is correct.) If you aren't too concerned about the size, consider buying a man's.
