Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin Edge Handle Bar Mount

Customer Review: The weak link in the system
Summary: 1 Stars

Just adding my one star review to the pile already here. The bracket is basically unsatisfactory. One solution is to stick "Dual-Lock" on the back of your unit and also on the top of your stem and hold the unit on that way. When cycling with the unit mounted to the bracket it is also wise to wrap a rubber band around the unit and the handlebars so that when the bracket fails, you won't lose the computer too.

Customer Review: Very poor design
Summary: 1 Stars

I agree with the other one star ratings, except that one star is one too many. Unfortunately if you want to use your Edge on a bicycle, you have to have one of these. I have now broken three and I cannot figure out how not to break them. The tab that holds the unit in place is so fragile that a little bumping will break it off.

Bad job - Garmin. Fix it.

Customer Review: If you have more than one bike you need this.
Summary: 4 Stars

If you got the Edge GPS, then you already got a mount with that - actually enough parts for mounting on 2 bikes. They work just fine. But, (and thanks to the person who posted the picture) this accessory kit doesn't come with the same parts as the Edge did, as you might expect. It only has one mounting clip so it only good for one more bike.

Customer Review: Garmin Edge 305 replacement bike mount
Summary: 5 Stars

Exact replacement with no instructions. You do get 2 of these with Edge 305 unit when you buy it. You can rotate the plastic base inside the rubber mount for handlebar or stem mount. The plastic release tab is the weak spot, that's what broke on my original. Never did figure out what the rubber pad was for.

Customer Review: Cheap solution to holding an expensive GPS
Summary: 1 Stars

Garmin really dropped the ball with this GPS mount. A 50 cent part to hold a $350 GPS. I've broken at least 4 of these now. Each one has had the tab break off. It's useless after this - certainly not worth the $10 people want to charge you for it. Disappointed that this is the only solution out there.
