Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin Dashboard Mount for StreetPilot c310, c320, c330 and c340 (010-10613-00)Customer Review: Garmin Dashboard Mount Summary: 5 StarsI had been searching for a dashboard mount for my GPS since I purchased it a year ago. I wanted something that would allow the GPS to be placed firmly on my dashboard while I drive. This gadget allows me to the stability needed to place the system near the window without concern of it tipping over during driving. I would recommend this to a friend.
Customer Review: VERY FAST SERVICE Summary: 5 Stars I JUST WANTED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT I PURCHASED THE GARMIN DASHBOARD MOUNT FOR MY GPS FROM THE PRICE PROS (THROUGH AMAZON.COM) AND I RECEIVED IT ALOT FASTER THAN WHAT WAS QUOTED TO ME. EXCELLENT SERVICE! HAVEN'T HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY DASHMOUNT UP TO THIS DAY.
Customer Review: Better than past one Summary: 5 StarsThe suction cup mount for my C340 well.....didn't. It fell repeatedly and ended up breaking. I ordered the friction mount and am tickled to death. Easy to attach to GPS...easy to place anywhere on dashboard...easy to hide when leaving the car and....easy to move from vehicle to vehicle. Garmin SHOULD offer a $10.00 coupon to all registered C340 owners so they can all buy the friction mount and recall the suction mount.
Customer Review: Just say No to suction Summary: 4 StarsThe original mount for the Garmin C40 GPS is a window suction mount that just didn't quite fit well in my van. The cockpit is laid out so that by the time the Garmin is mounted in a visible, usable position on the left side of the windscreen, it is somewhat blocking my view and is not workable with the left hand as the manual controls on the GPS are on the right side. Plus the power cabling is now routed over (or under, I've tried both ways) the steering column and is a nuisance.
When I tried a center windshield mount position, the unit was too far away to operate.
This mount allows the unit to sit in the middle of the dashboard occupying the acre of empty space, is operable by the driver's right hand or by the passenger. The power cabling can now be 'fit' into one of the vertical seams of the center console and is more secure.
I wish the mount had a bit more weight to it, as it does move sometimes during evasive Turnpike driving, but then it might not have qualified for Free Shipping.
Bottom line: works better for me.
Customer Review: Maps almost impossible to update Summary: 3 StarsI bought this GPS unit for my husband for Christmas, 2008 and we enjoyed using it for a few months. We noticed that some of the city street information was missing and that rural directions were inaccurate and outdated, so in October, we decided to update our maps using the Garmin website. There is a map update available, but with our high speed wireless internet, the download would take 19 hours at 2Gigabytes of data! This is not acceptable, so I looked for the chip upgrade--$99.
I'm very disappointed in Garmin's ability to provide an efficient way to deliver map updates at a cost that is reasonable.
