I figured that the standard suction cup mount would not be effective, so when I purchased my new GPS last month I had immediately starting researching mounting devices. Based upon the good reviews here, I decided to purchase this one and I am glad I did. The "installation" was easy; the most difficult part was taking it out of the box. It holds the GPS in place, is easily portable and non-obtrusive. My only concern is that I'm not sure whether this device would be a dangerous projectile in the event of a collision. Other than that, this is definitely worth the money and my 4.5 stars. Garmin Dashboard Mount for StreetPilot c310, c320, c330 and c340 (010-10613-00). Amazing product. I recently purchased this item after the heat source to my windshield, melted and fused a small component on the original mount that attached to my windshield. This was after 1 year of use. This Garmin Dashboard Mount should be standard. It is portable, does not use adhesive, and sits closer to the driver if need be without obscuring any views, which is perfect for those with vision difficulty. The price is great compared to purchasing directly from Garmin. Great product.... highly recommend.Customer Review: A dash mount for those critical winshield angles

My standard Garmin Suction Cup Winshield mount does not contain the angle adjustments necessary to give me a suitable vision point in both of my GM vehicles which have extreme angled windshields. To get a suitable viewing position I had to improvise clumsy console mounts each of which, were really not very satisfactory. The recently purchased flexible dashboard mount completely took care of my mounting problem(s) as it can be placed at any angle at any point on the level or slopping dashboard of any vehicle. It's a quick, set in place mount which puts the StreetPilot unit adjacent to the windshield which is where you need your unit mounted to insure proper GPS signal reception.Customer Review: not very stable

i bought this for my garmin streetPilot c340 after reading several online reviews praising its quality and stability... it definitely is not stable and keeps falling off even for normal driving. this keeps sliding and moving on slightly curvy dash-boards all too often. seemed to work better initially but has been getting steadily worse. have also tried it on the dash of an Acura TSX, Corolla and Aveo with similar results: one hand has to be ready to catch the gps unit as it slides off the dash!
i'll probably revert to a sticky mount on my dash though i hate the thought of sticking something to it... windshield mount works very well, but is against the law

Garmin Portable Friction Mount for Nuvi, StreetPilot I Series & C530, C550 (010-10908-00)
Ever since we bought our Garmin we have loved it, with the exception of the suction cup attachment to hold the device on the windshield. Sometimes it fell off, and always left an unattractive and obvious ring on the windshield itself. This is a great improvement! The feet are very secure and stay put on the dash. With this stable yet easily portable stand, the device is so easy to stash in the trunk for safekeeping when leaving the car. We strongly recommend this item!
