I have been debating for a long time on whether to purchase the City Navigator NT for my Garmin GPS 76CSX unit. I have Topo 2008 on my unit already and it has worked well. I read several reviews from people who have problems installing the City Navigator and also having it take hours to install as it did with one of the guys I work with. I bought it anyway and decided to give it a try. It only took about one and a half hours to install and it works very well.Customer Review: Great Functionality

I have been using this map software for a few weeks now and I keep discovering more things that it will do. The maps are well-detailed. I am using a Garmin eTrex Vista Hcx hand held.
After taking a hike into the mountains, I downloaded the track that my GPS recorded and was able to study the detail of my hike with elevation detail and timestamps for all of the trackpoints.
The POI's included are good but not complete (not surprising).

I am a Garmin product user for years, and after using version 6 & 8, the new NT version is a vast improvement. I mostly use Garmin products for planning bicycling routes, mostly in New Jersey but also other states while vacationing.
The older map versions always suffered from route inaccuracies, mostly missing roads, but every once in a while showing a road that doesn't exist. The NT version seems to address many of these short comings.

This item is very expensive and only allows use on one(1) gps unit! I bought this to go with my Rino's and was very disappointed in the fact that I had to spend another $100+ to get maps, then to find out that it only works and 1 GPS and I had to spend another $100+ to get the second one installed was not fun.
Once installed it doesn't have basic streets in my area that have been around for over 10 years! All in all I wish I could get a refund.

I've taken out the GPS and found the hidden treasures, it took a bit to understand the machine as any new toy does. It comes with the very basic information and the maps are costly but worth the money for the fun and adventure you will have. This is a wonderful tool for family hunts and even exploring a new city too. You can follow the path you took on any trip, it works well and is a lot of fun to use too.
I recommend the purchase.
