Ordered the ac charger for my Garmin Nuvi from gizgalaxy on Amazon. com11/11/2010. I received it today 11/13/2010. I am very pleased with how fast it got to me and how it was packaged. I needed this wall charger before 11/19/2010 and I received it well ahead of my time limit that I needed. Overall I am very well pleased with gizgalaxy. This item does exactly what you would expect. Recharges your Garmin Nuvi in the comfort of your home (or anywhere else with an electrical outlet.) It even comes with adapters for foreign power outlets. What I didn't know when I ordered it was that it isn't really necessary if you have a computer. The supplied USB download cable also allows you to charge your Nuvi through your computers USB port. While I don't know if there is a difference in recharge times, it is possible to save $15 or $20 bucks and charge with the USB cable.Customer Review: Depending on your use, probably not necessary.

I read all the amazon reviews debating whether or not this charger was necessary and I ended up buying one to be safe. Well, in the course of a two week road trip, the charger never left its box, and likely never will. Our GPS system charged quickly just by using the lighter in the car, and it stayed charged for hours afterwards when we took it into hotels. Unless you plan to use your GPS as a walking/cylcling companion, and think you'll rarely be setting foot in a car, there's no point to getting the A/C charger.Customer Review: Amazon was a life-saver!

I love my Garmin Nuvi, but it didn't come with an adapter for charging it in the house - just a car charger. Twice I've taken it on vacation and ended up not renting a car, and thus, had to do without my Garmin. I checked out the Garmin site, and they only had the adapter I wanted as part of a kit- and I already had all the other stuff included in that kit. I was so delighted that I checked with Amazon, and they had the adapter as a separate item, and at a really reasonable price. Thanks, Amazon!!!Customer Review: Perfect Garmin Charger

I spent a fair bit of time searching for Garmin AC chargers that worked well with the Garmin GPS units. There seem to be a lot of ones on the market that do not work well. I found this charger to be a quality item. I've had absolutely no difficulties with and it works exactly as one would want. I am using it on a Garmin Nuvi 255 3.5" GPS unit. I purchased it here on Amazon from this seller because of the highly rated reviews by buyers. I'm completely satisfied with this AC Garmin charger.
