Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin 4.3-Inch Carrying CaseCustomer Review: One Major Flaw - on an otherwise excellent product Summary: 3 Stars
This case has one major flaw for me: Sliding my GPS (Nuvi 250W & Nuvi 780) into this case almost always turns the unit on. Unless you take special care putting the unit into the case, the Power slide switch will be grabbed by the case and flipped on. More than once, I drained the battery because I didn't realize the unit was turned on. This isn't a big deal if you're at home but if you're relying on the "Last Position" and/or "Where Am I?" features to get you from the convention center to your car, you might have a nasty surprise at the end of your day.
The quality and fit are top notch. It's not as bulky as the off-brand zippered case I bought for my first GPS and the little pouch on the outside of this case is handy for putting a parking lot ticket.
Customer Review: Good basic case to protect your Nuvi Summary: 4 Stars
This is a pretty decent case. It fits my Nuvi 760 like a glove.
There are no bells and whistles with this case. In order to operate your GPS, you must remove it from the case. There are no cutouts for charging cord, external mic, etc, there is no see though cover, and there is virtually no storage space for accessories. What you get is an inexpensive, nice fitting, relatively stylish case that offers protection for your Nuvi if you move it in and out of your car frequently.
Concerning the fact your Nuvi will turn on when you remove if from the case, that is really a non issue. Just make sure you insert it into the case so that the power switch is at the top, and you will not have a problem.
Customer Review: Cary Case fits my Nuvi 750 perfect Summary: 5 Stars
Some reviewers gave this one star because they didnt feel they needed it? Confusing what that has to do with the actual product. When I'm in a store or leaving my car parked on a street I take my 750 off the mount and keep it in the glove compartment. I wanted a case so there was no chance of marring it up or potentially placing something else in the glove compartment with it and damaging the screen. The unit slides in and is held in tight (someone complained in a review that it was too snug) which it should since if it slid out what would be the point of using a case?
Pros: Fits my unit perfectly, seems of good quality, genuine Garmin product
Cons: A little pricey for what it is
Customer Review: Great case for the minimalist Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this case for my Nuvi 265W and have been using it for a year and a half. It still looks great and fits snug.
The case is perfect for people who want to protect their GPS unit without unnecessary bulk of features they may never use on more elaborate cases. Mine spends most of its time tossed around in the car and bounced around with phone chargers, house keys and the like in my center console.
The only negative I've seen is that the case is just snug enough to catch the power switch and turn the unit on while sliding it into the case. This can be prevented by being aware of which end you slide in first.
I would buy it again and would recommend it to anyone.
Customer Review: Great as a basic protector case Summary: 5 Stars
I was somewhat skeptical when I first looked at this because a lot of people said that when they put their nav unit in it would switch it on. I have the Garmin 765T which has an on/off switch on top. I quickly realized that actually if you're smart enough to slide this in a certain way then there is no way the garmin will turn on. Anyways, it is somewhat cheaply made but then again I'm not showing it off to anyone so I don't know why that matters. I use it so when I take it off the dash and put it in the glove compartment or trunk I don't want the screen to get scratched. For that it works perfect. It is snug at first but loosens up quickly but not enough to wear it's too loose. It still works great
