Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin 4.3-Inch Carrying Case

Customer Review: Excellent for the Nuvi 660
Summary: 4 Stars

I actually got this bundled with my Nuvi 660. I was initially concerned that the fit was too tight, but over time, the case quickly adapted to the unit and the unit can be slipped in and out with ease, and without slipping out on its own.

Pros:
1. Excellent quality, fit and finish; minimalist design
2. Nuvi 660 will not slip out on its own, but very easy to slip the unit in or out manually
3. Inner padding is soft and will not scratch

Cons:
1. Has a pocket that is unusable for all practical purposes; it fits the unit like a glove and there's no space to squeeze anything in there

The case does not have any extra features; no belt loop or straps or other pockets. This doesn't bother me since I've never had any reason to carry my auto gps unit on my person. I've only needed to throw it into glove box in the car or into my backpack while travelling. For these purposes, this case works great.

Customer Review: This is perfect!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is perfect case for your Garmin GPS. It's affordable, but this great protection for your GPS unit. This does exactly as it should. What I like most about it is that the inside of the case if nice and smooth so it won't scratch your GPS unit.

It's been said that if you're not careful, when you slide in your unit, it can turn on as it rubs up along the side of the holder, here's how I make sure that doesn't happen. When I slide in my GPS unit, you pinch the sides and it makes a little "alcove" so when the power button is about to hit the side, it just slides in and never touches the top. When you have it in, you just let go of the sides and it hugs the Garmin like it should and doesn't turn on.

This is such fantastic feature and it looks nice too. If you have a Garmin, then you'll want to get this and protect your GPS unit. I'm not sorry I bought it, and there's no way you'll be sorry either.

This rocks!

Customer Review: Does what it is designed to do
Summary: 5 Stars

First a comment on some previous reviews - This is not a high tech item, it's a protective case. Don't try to make more of it than that.

Now for my thoughts.
1) It fits my NUVI 750 like a glove.
2) The quality of construction is at least as good as any other case I've seen on the market. It also is aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
3) It slips into my shirt pocket with ease.
4) I realize that is not a form of structural armor for my device and that I still must exercise a certain amount of care to keep my NUVI from harm. It's not waterproof, fireproof, bombproof etc. It does keep my screen clean, prevents case scratches, protects it from the usual hazards of being knocked about in the console of my vehicle where it resides when not in use.

To summarize. It does what it is designed to do at a reasonable price.
Therefore it rates the 5 stars in my book.

Customer Review: Great Protection For Your Garmin Nuvi GPS Investment
Summary: 4 Stars

There is not much that I can say about this case. After all, it is just a basic leather case. It may be a bit plain looking but it definately offers great protection for the pricey Nuvi GPS product line.

I have used this model case for the Nuvi 250W and the Nuvi 660. Both units fit snug, although the Nuvi 660 fits almost too snug. As another reviewer pointed out, you do not need to purchase this case for the Nuvi 660 unless you want an extra, since this exact case is included with the 660 package.

I give this product 4 stars, but its solid build and great protection. It will not win any beauty contests. It is just a plain looking case, which could use softer leather and more padding. A closing top flap with a magnetic closure would also be a welcome addition. Still, it is inexpensive and goes a long way to protect your portable electronic investment.

Customer Review: WAY too snug initially for the 600's...had to STRETCH it...
Summary: 2 Stars

The Garmin case that came with my 350 is MUCH softer than this, thicker leather and just fits "right".

There was NO way initially of getting my 660 into this without accidentally turning the power on/off when trying to pull it out.

I am trying to stretch it for the second day by getting it a little damp and shoving a comparably sized cell phone case in plus some butter knives down the sides for a little added stretch. I wasn't sure if it was going to work, or tear, but it has eased up but it is still a VERY tight fit. I have decided now that my 350 case is a little too loose and am going to slip something in to tighten it up.

If you can find a quality alternative, reasonably priced, that allegedly fits you might want to go for it, this is REALLY tight, and not the best quality, and not worth the shipping return...
