Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Garmin 3.5-Inch Carrying CaseCustomer Review: Boring but trusty case for Garmin devices Summary: 4 Stars
I ended up buying this case for my Garmin Nuvi 500. It fits well, but the case is really only designed to protect against scratches and dings of the LCD instead of the device itself. The case is sort of flimsy looking but it feels like it's decent quality to the touch. The Nuvi 500 fits pretty snug, so you don't have to worry about this thing slipping out and falling on the ground (where naturally, it'll hit a big rock and shatter the screen.)
With something like this, it's hard to give it a good star rating. Yes, it does its job but it's rather dull. It's a binary thing - either it works or it doesn't.
If you plan on taking your GPS out of your car, or need to carry your Nuvi 500, pick up a slip case AND a screen protector of some sort.
Customer Review: 3.5 Inch Garmin Carrying Case Summary: 1 Stars
I don't know why they even offer this product because it is much too small to fit the Garmin Nuvi, and I don't even know if they make a smaller GPS than the Nuvi. I bought 3 as gifts and returned them for the larger case, which is wonderful. I am still waiting for a refund from Agent Frugal, the vendor I purchased from. At first he gave me the wrong PO Box, and the Post Office returned my return. He gave me a different PO Box, but I still have not received my refund. The post office did not return it to me, so I assume it was delivered. I would be leary of ordering from this vendor. It's a shame because both deliveries were very prompt, but I'm still due a refund for the first order.
Customer Review: Frustration Summary: 1 Stars
An inexpensive, simple, small case just fits the Garmin Nuvi and certainly offers some protection from bumps and scratches. So would the toe of a sock or a cardboard box, at a much lower price.
Most frustrating, this item measures about 3" x 4". The plastic packaging measures about 6" x 9" x 1/2". Amazon says it it too large to ship to my Post Office Box, yet boxes of books are shipped there regularly. At the same time, Amazon refuses to recognize my rural address, which I've been using for more than 18 years. Were it not for the courtesy and cooperation of the University of Wisconsin accepting my mail, I'd have difficulty shopping at Amazom.
Customer Review: Nuvi goes flying out of case! Summary: 1 Stars
The case is open at one end, and the inside is felt lined. So, if you're not careful (and you won't be sometimes), and don't put your hand over the open end, your GPS unit will go flying out!
I can't count how many times I've parked my car, put my Nuvi into the case, got out and had my Nuvi go slamming into the pavement... and I go #@!&%!!
Seriously, it's a really poor design. It needs at least a strap or cover... something. I've had my Nuvi 680 for a couple years... and this still happens... it's just an awkward design... just the slightest outward force from turning or facing down and out slides the GPS!
Customer Review: Decent Case for the Price Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this case for the Nuvi 255 that I just ordered. It's a perfect fit, and it's small and compact so that you could easily store the item in a glove box or center console. It doesn't have much padding so I'm not sure how much protection you would get if it was accidentally dropped on pavement or concrete, especially on the open end. It would definitely protect the item from scratches and any damage that could accur from daily use inside the car. It has a front pocket that may be for notes but useless for any other type of storage. I like this item because it protects my new purchase and takes up half the space of my old case.
