Customer Review: Holds onto the GPS just fine, just not the dash plate

While this little bracket does a great job of hanging onto the GPS unit it's a different story when it comes to the suction cup sticking to the plate it comes with. I've got a Magellan that I use side by side with my Garmin and the Magellan will stay in place for months at a time while the Garmin falls off the dash weekly. It's frustrating to say the least but I've learned to deal with it and remove the Garmin from the dash (which leads to less use of the Garmin). It's too bad they couldn't get the suction cup to work as well as others have.Customer Review: A must have for auto use

I use my Garmin in my cars, on my bike and handheld. For auto use the bracket is a must have. The GPS must be able to "see" the sky to pick up signals from the satellites so ideally it should sit on the dash by the windshield. This bracket securely holds the GPS onto the sandbag like base and allows the unit to be angled and tilted in various ways to reduce glare on the screen.
I've also purchased the Garmin bike handlebar mount and the bracket portion attaches directly to that as well.

After reading some earlier reviews, I was hesitant about purchasing this, as well. Once it came and I installed it, I found I had nothing to worry about. It holds great to the windshield, even through some extreme driving. I do wish it the bracket would rotate side to side, but a pretty minor thing really. I love being able to easily switch the bracket system between my cars and trucks. Holds the GPS very steady (I like having it rest on the dashboard). All in all, I say do it, don't be afraid!Customer Review: We love this! It works Amazingly Well.

After reading the previous reviews, we were quite tentative about purchasing this, and were expecting to probably return it. But we needed something that moves from car to car so we decided to try it. It is solid, doesn't move at all. Works quite well. We can't seem to figure out why anyone would have problems with it - unless maybe they tried to suction the bracket to a dirty windshield or something. I have had this suction cup mount for six weeks. I attached it to a "sandbag" type dash mount at that time and it is STILL solidly attached. The bottom of the mount just touches the top of the sandbag which gives it a lot of support. So this gives me the feeling that this mount will stay in place over the roughest of roads. The mount adjustments seem very strong, and my Garmin 60CX locks into the mount VERY solidly. This mount on a sandbag dash mount is a terrific combination!
